I think its 40. I know we switched to seatbelt install this winter b/c DD who turns 3 in a couple of weeks started pushing 40 lbs/42 inches around Xmas time and I had looked it up in the manual.

Maximum in the manual is child weight of 45 lbs, but some cars have lower Latch limits so check your car owners manual. Seat is 19.3 lbs, and the Latch limits in the car manual are seat + child.
I do think if she's tall your best bet is the Britax Frontier Clicktight. I'll check Car Seat Deals on Facebook to see if there are any listed deals.

Diapers.com with SAVETWOTIMES brings it down to $215 or so, but some people have said that diaper.com often has older manufacture dates on their seats (up to a year ago) which gives you less time until expiration. Baby Cheapskate says her buy price for the Frontier is $225.

The Pioneer doesn't have the click tight feature. You have to seat belt install.
The difference between the Frontier and the Pinnacle is side impact protection cushions. The Pinnacle is beefed up SIP and it's wider than the Frontier at the shoulder part of the seat.

The Frontier and Pinnacle are basically the same seat. The Pinnacle has "side impact cushion technology", but I don't really know what that means.
The Pioneer is the Frontier/Pinnacle stripped down to be more affordable. It doesn't have Clicktight and can be a little trickier to install. Pioneers with manufacture dates before October 2015 also have a lower standing height limit and lower top harness slots. But the current models have the same standing height limits and top harness slot heights as the Frontier/Pinnacle, so it's a good option if you're looking to save some money.

We did the Frontiers. Even then they can't install next to each other in my car (Highlander), and I can't fit between them at the shoulders IF I ever wanted to use the middle seat.

I think it really depends on your preferences. I'm pretty cost conscious and would probably go for the Pioneer for an install that wouldn't need to be redone very often. But a lot of people LOOOOVE Clicktight and wouldn't get a seat without it. The Pioneer is $147 with the Diapers.com code.
