I'm torn about buying our really close friends a wedding present.
Oh and I'm buying an unusually large present for them because they always house sit for us and never take any money from us. I figured I could "pay them back" through a wedding present.
I voted for flatware, since those get so pricey per setting. We ended up not getting a SINGLE setting for our wedding and couldn't afford them ourselves, so we're stuck with this ugly mix of stuff still. Fiestaware is cheaper and easier for the couple to pick up pieces here and there on their own (or for other wedding guests to buy a few pieces and still pay less than a flatware set...depending on the set of course).

I said the fiestaware because I thought it would be nice to have the complete set, but I change to what IK said. Flatware isn't necessarily something you will buy for yourself, but the fiestaware, probably.

Haha yes oops. Same idea though. Fancy silverware also unnecessary.
We didn't want "fancy" sterling or anything. We just wanted a good set of stainless that would look equally good with formal dishes as well as daily dishes.
