I do. At our place they aren't fully staffed right when they open so I think when they know they have an extra kid coming they adjust accordingly. But she's still in the infant room, so a little different.
Yes but mine is a home daycare that doesn't open til 8am. If I travel for business, h needs to do drop off at 6.30am so obviously we give her a lot of notice. She normally opens the door half asleep and in her pjs lol.

I don't. They made this huge fuss during our original tour about how we could drop in at any time to pick him up early, come earlier or later than usual for drop off, etc. -- so we do. I figure it keeps them on their toes. I know that's a little obnoxious.
No. DS's school is open 7:30 to 5:30 so it's not like we have a huge window to begin with. DD's is 7-6 and they prefer me to bring her in earlier than I do! But that rarely happens.
No. But I know if I drop him off before 0715, his teacher won't be there yet. They have kids from his room combine with another room until then (either one age down or one age up) to keep everyone in ratio. It's NBD. Also, when a kid is about to move up rooms, they try to put him or her in the new room for a few hours a day, so this helps with room transitions because they already kind of know the teacher.
I would, just as a courtesy. DD is already there when daycare opens at 7am though, so it's never come up for us. I do let them know if she will be picked up later than normal as well.
Yes, we do. They staff based on people's normal schedules so while the ratio might be fine for the person dropping off early, I have been screwed being the next one in the door (on my regular schedule) that does screw up the ratio and I've had to wait until the next teacher arrives.
Yes, normally. One time I didn't and dropped DD off at 7 am and I scared the teacher. Normally she's the last to arrive around 8:45 but that morning she was the first, just after they opened. The teacher was shocked to see me!
But at the daycare/preschool I work at the parents don't tell me if they will be early (the earliest they can come is 7:45), they must tell me if they will be later than 8:30 (we lock and close the doors then).
Nope. We can bring him anytime they're open (6:30-6:30pm). They do like to know if you're going to be late so they know the child is safe or is/is not coming for the day.
No but we pay for early hours, even though we barely use them. Center opens for early hours at 7am. H does drop off at 815 and regular day starts at 830.

DS is usually the first one there so no. We do let them know if we plan to pick him up early or if he is sick and missing a day. If a child doesn't arrive by 10 am the director calls to make sure everything is ok.
I do but only because technically he is in their preschool program so he is only suppose to come 8:30 to 12pm. But they are so flexible and let him come early if need be or even on different days.
Yes, but we're at an in home daycare. I'm hoping we don't have to once we're at a bigger place. I sort of hate the lack of flexibility w/drop off pick up (e.g., if I want to run to the store, w/o asking "permission")
No, but's he usually there first thing anyway. We are required to notify if he is going to be late. Policy is no drop offs after 9 am without advanced notice.
At the place they were at as little babies I would call and the staff acted like I was a little crazy. We don't call at the place we're at now. They're open 7:30 - 6:30. We drop off anytime between 7:30 and 10:30, although daycare does prefer that we come before 9 they've never made a big deal out of it.
