We had a huge fundraiser yesterday and it beat us all. We were at work until 10 last night and had to be in a 8. I'm exhausted, and we're nowhere near finished counting all the money.

@stellarsailor, good luck with all of that. At the very least it should be entertaining! @ello, yay for this being an eye opening experience for your dad! And yay for having energy with W30! milsaroo, yay for productivity and naps!
I have a phone interview with a company/position that I am pretty excited about, and I hope something comes out of it!
A girl I knew in high school just posted this to FB:
...so you're proud of the fact that you make yourself look vapid and ignorant and also that you relentlessly peddle ugly clothes of poor quality to your friends? Mmmkaythen.

@ello , glad your dad is doing better! I hope the improvement continues! @stellarsailor , wow, that is a lot of drama! Hopefully you can survive without any more shit thrown your way! theatre4life , good luck on the interview, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! glw , I can only imagine how deep that rabbit hole can get. I'd like to do a few small things to the house, but I'm afraid once I start, I will just keep going with adding more projects and more $$$ to spend on things that we may not necessarily need (but would love to have redone!).
I'm on the hunt for new shoes that will be comfortable for walking around Europe, that are not tennis shoes (since I don't really want to stick out as American while visiting France). Seems like most of the "comfort" type sandals are completely awful looking, and the ones that might pass for cute and comfortable are over $100! My current sandals that had fit this purpose are not really looking too great, so I think I'm going to have to actually visit some stores this weekend to find what I need since online browsing isn't giving me many good choices.
@ello, I'm so glad to hear that your dad is doing better! @stellarsailor, I missed the drama, but good luck. Might I suggest bringing a flask for instant relief from the drama? LOL OrangePixyStix, I lived in TOMs when we were in London. I know they're not completely non-tennis shoes, but they were comfy and looked better than my New Balance running shoes.
I managed to tweak my shoulder when I went rock climbing on Saturday (I may have already complained about this), but yoga seems to be making it worse. I'm counting down to 3:30 when I go to my massage therapist to get it taped up. I'm finally on a good routine with yoga and climbing and I'd hate to take time off...I'm so likely to just replace it with sitting on the couch (or at the tap room).
I'm meeting my friend for dinner tonight at a new seafood place in her neighborhood, so I'm looking forward to that. And I leave for New Orleans on Friday - yay! I am going to eat with reckless abandon and I cannot wait!
I finished Harry Potter a couple days ago, and I am shocked at how much I LOVED it. Even though I had seen the last movie with my sister at some point, I guess I wasn't paying attention or just didn't know who was who besides the main characters, because I was not prepared for one of the deaths and it's still making me a little sad (UGH WHO AM I?!). And now I've moved on to the second Outlander book to get over HP. lol

Thanks for the suggestion, I may look into that. I have some vans that look like Tom's and they are OK for walking, though they don't have much cushion. Was also kind of going for something with open toes, but with some sort of back strap so they don't flop when I step.
Looking for something similar to these, but I am trying my best to avoid anything by Croc's brand (for obvious fashion-don't reasons, lol!):
But for all I know, those may be just as un-cute as Croc's... I've never been a fashion expert, but I do try!
Also, sorry to hear about your minor injury and hope you can get back to your routine soon. It's so sucky to have a good routine put on hold due to body limitations... I will just hope you come back stronger once everything is feeling good again!
OrangePixyStix, Merrell makes leather sandals. I bought a pair for a Europe trip about 5 years ago and my feet did great. This is coming from someone who can't wear shoes without support unless she wants to be in pain.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will check out that brand and see what I can find!
