I was lucky to marry a man that never gets a "man cold" or complains about being sick, EVER. So when he says he hasn't been feeling right, I started to freak out and he has too.
He's had some random symptoms since getting back from Bali- mostly exhaustion, waking up with charlie horses almost every night, dizziness, and dull chest pain on his left side. This Monday, he had a stabbing pain in his chest, his fingers were numb, and he said he felt off. He went to the ER without my prodding, which is definitely not like him. EKG was fine, blood tests, etc. They just sent him home. Yesterday, he had terrible chest pain again with numbness and major dizzy spells and went back to the ER. They did a few more tests and nothing. Thankfully, our doctor is also a soccer buddy of ours and was texting with him throughout his visit. She wants to run a few more tests and maybe a CT scan, so he's going in today.
I'm trying to be calm because he is freaking out. He doesn't do that. He's Mr. Everything is FINE! and I'm usually the big baby. Can we get some good thoughts for today? I'm hoping she says it's some kinda lack of vitamins or diet thing and not something bigger.
While he's at the doctor, I'll be on a lunch interview, trying to concentrate
Update: CT scan was fine! Longer Update: Radiology place said there was nothing urgent in the CT scan and Dr. Friend will be looking it over on Monday or Tuesday. Knowing her, she'll probably stop by the office this weekend to check it out. He's on prilosec and a steroid to rule out stomach/inflammation issues.
Did they check for a blood clot? That would be my concern with a long flight and chest pain. I had a pulmonary embolism in 2006 after going to Australia and my symptoms were similar. A chest CT with contast would be a good idea.

That was my first thought as well. Hope he gets some answers and feels better soon.

I'd be concerned about the Charlie horses and chest pain - did they do a Doppler to rule out blood clot? Is he short of breath? How long ago did he return from Bali?
I will definitely keep him in my thoughts and I'm happy his doctor is taking this seriously.

Not sure and yes he's short of breath when he gets the chest pain We got back about a month ago.
Have they tested him for any mosquito borne illnesses?
What about TB?
None of that yet. I'm pretty ticked at the ER. Both times, they just said "You're young and healthy!" and sent him home with prilosec the second time He asked for a CT scan (because his Dr. texted him to!) and the ER doc said that it was a lot of radiation. That was his excuse.

That's frustrating. I hope they figure it out soon and it's easily treatable. Good luck on your interview!
Well if you go back to the ER ask them to run a D Dimer when they take his blood - they can rule out a blood clot with this. But I'd probably also insist on the CT scan.
