Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm already missing the warm weather.
We got DD's room painted and put back together over the weekend, it looks so good - I am quite impressed. She also had a soccer game and we had dinner with friends.
Tomorrow I'll be WFH after an IUD appointment. Fingers crossed some of the PCOS side effects get under control going this route.

Good morning,
We had a pretty chill weekend. Waited in line at Molly moons for 30 minutes for ice cream at the new Redmond location. It was worth it though. Sunday we did some spring cleaning and I had an amazing massage.
Today I was all excited to dig into a project and out data warehouse is done so my hands are tied. I'll have to come up with some busy work this morning.

Good morning! I had a fun weekend, but boo to the M's being swept in their first Home Series. H and I took Conan to Fremont yesterday for our first "Food Truck Rodeo," and ate WAY too much! I highly recommend
I had a funny conversation with my little brother last night. He's 30 and just recently got engaged to a really cool girl who comes from a very wealth family. Her parents are ivy league educated. She's ivy league educated and extremely driven. She's currently getting her masters at UT. She's just kind of the exact opposite of my brother. Haha. But they compliment each other well. But her family is extremely wealthy and has given them a budget of $100k for the wedding...which is a shock to begin with. But they are also very southern traditional and have placed some expectations on my family that I just don't think are going to mesh well. And poor little brother is in a panic over it. He was so worked up. I kept laughing on the phone with him last night about the whole thing b/c it was so ridiculous and he was really mad at me. He's so sensitive.
So apparently my parents are responsible for a rehearsal dinner for 100 people. Which is insane. That's the size of a wedding. And something called a "Welcoming party" on the Thursday evening before the wedding which is a cocktail and appetizer gathering for the immediate family and any out-of-towners. Have you heard of that? I mean, the budget for just those two events is probably going to exceed the entire amount that my parents paid for my entire wedding!
I also found out that I'm a bridesmaid and my two girls will be flower girls. I'm too old and broke to be a bridesmaid. Lol. I guess it's good motivation to get in really good shape after I have the baby. I hope part of that $100k is going to cover those costs b/c it's already going to be really painful just flying my whole family back east, paying for the rental car, etc. I'm also not thrilled about having a 15 month old flower girl. What a horrible age that is. It's like herding cats. I asked him to just have Em as a flower girl. She'll be 5. so that's fine.
Poor little brother. I've only met his fiance one time for about an hour and she seemed really cool and laid back but dude that is some family to marry in to. My parents are just not like that at all. They are more like crabs and beer people.
This should be an interesting year. I hope the families can come together.
While I want the impending rain to wash the pollen out of the air, I desperately need the crazy sunshiney weather back to boost my mood which is in the dumps. Just trying to make it through the work day as best I can. i really just want to be home crying and cuddling my cat.
I am running off of coffee and dayquil. Monday sucks balls. I had so much pressure built up in my head last night I thought I had an ear infection by how the pain in my ear was but this morning its pretty much gone besides my ear being somewhat plugged up. My head is still all sorts of congested and pressurized and stuff. lame. kids are still sick as well. I'm hoping at little mans apt tomorrow I can get medicine for all of us.

ilovebed, if it were my siblings (mostly because I am a giant dick) I would be like whelp hope those 100 people like burgers and beers...
Also if they want a crazy dress that is 300 I would be hesitant to spend my own money on that, but like I said I'm a dick about those things. My sister has been complaining that being a BM for her FSIL is costing her like $750 between everything and I just wouldn't have dealt with it.
Today I am going to run by Sherwin Williams b/c all the paint and stain is 30% off through tonight so I can save some money on paints, and the 5 Gal of stain I will need for the fence/deck.
Maybe I will go by China City and get some Mongolian beef... yum!
Went and got a consult for a tattoo during my lunch break. Apparently, my fingers are too damn small for a finger tattoo. I am having her draw up something different.
ilovebed I must confess I'm looking forward to the inevitable crazy stories as the planning of this wedding unfolds! I can't wrap my head around that budget. I've never heard of a welcome party like what you described, it kinda sounds like a duplicate rehearsal dinner? I guess it's not too unlike hosting a brunch the next day or something but it seems like a weird thing to put on the groom's family.
hahah awkward... I just had to ask on of my old color guard instructors from high school for a video she was in way back when so I can use it for inspiration for pole class...I was trying to find it myself.

My brother explained to me that weddings for their family is a 4 day long party. There are 4 daughters in the family. One got married last year, one is getting married this September and then my brother's wedding is next July. It all starts with this welcoming party on Thursday evening which is supposed to be a cocktail hour paid for by the groom's family. This apparently is for immediate family to get to know each other. Then the rehearsal dinner is for family, out of town guests, and the entire wedding party and all significant others. In this case it's about 100 people.
Everything is paid for for all out of town family (on the bride's side anyway) including food lodging and transportation to and from all wedding related events. Saturday there is some kind of wedding party breakfast or brunch. Then the wedding Saturday night. Then Sunday is a brunch for any family still in town I guess.
I'm sure it will be very fun. My family is just so much more laid back. Her family is very fancy and "southern traditional" as my brother says. On top of this conflicting views on weddings...I don't think they like my brother very much. He's loving and hard working and so dedicated to his friends and family. All great qualities in a spouse. But he's not ivy league educated, he doesn't have a fancy job (although he does well for himself and is financial independent). He also took a very different path in life and is really just now getting his career started and he's 30. I'm sure her father pictured her marrying someone with a lot of wealth but I don't think it matters very much to her what her spouse makes because frankly, she'll never want for anything in her life.
I think my brother just feels like he doesn't want my parents to have a heightened sense of obligation to do something really outrageously expensive just because her parents are able to do that. I mean, my parents are perfectly capable of spending the money...they are just much more frugal and pragmatic about it.
I bet it will be a super fun party, that's for sure! And it will be good motivation for me. I don't want to be the old, fat bridesmaid. Nobody wants to be that!
