Today my parents sent H a text, and my sister sent me a text (meant for H) saying Happy birthday. It was yesterday. They knew because they had asked me several times before and each time, I told them yesterday's date. I texted back saying it was yesterday, but I'll let him know you're thinking of him." She responded, "well it's listed as today on fb, so according to fb, I have the right day." 8-D
H and I haven't had our bdays listed on fb in years. I pointed this out to her and she said, "well it's there. I don't know anyone's birthday unless it's on fb, so I hope he's not offended." I checked mine just to be sure, but it's not. H was too polite to point it out, so he responded to my parents saying, "Thanks, it should be good," and my sister threw that back at me with, "Well, he said it should be good instead of it was good." I just said "He was being polite."
We let it go, but how annoying! If you got the wrong day, just admit it. It's really not a big enough deal to lie about!
