I have finally found the distance at which I develop insatiable swim hunger (swim-ger?). 6k. Omg, I went home from the pool and ate a chicken breast and a whole cup of rice. It was like 60+g of protein and 50g of carbs. And here it is, three hours later and I find myself in line at in-n-out for a double single. (Protein style, so no bun). I just ate 600 calories three hours ago.
Also, I got water in my sinuses this morning and now I can't stop sneezing.
Why does my body insist on trying to start my period after every long run? I get it, marathon training ain't got time for babies. But stahhhhp with the freaking spotting already.
I am convinced shorts are now my holy grail. And that I'm going to run extra fast streaking down Liberty avenue in Pittsburgh if I don't find a pair that's either 1. Is small enough and 2. Doesn't chafe my ladybits like whoa after 10 miles.
Maybe skirt sports has something? Or get a pair of tri shorts and wear those?
I went so far off the rails today with my eating. It was a wacky day starting with OWS and then off to a brunch. I gorged myself on arepas and then inca corn nuts. and then oreos. I think I'm nervous eating in anxiety over my ride tomorrow.
The 5 hours on my bike will undo my transgressions, right?

What brands have you tried? Have you tried the Athleta shorts with the grippy things on the legs so they stay in place?

Nike Pro Compression: the pairs I have are too big and the chafe is wild on my waistline and where the leg cuffs are. No bueno.
Athleta Ready Set/2 in 1: I ordered two different sizes to try out, the regular ready sets are too big, the 2 in 1 were fine for my 8 this week, but chafed me like whoa for my super sweaty 15.
Oiselle Roga: According to the size chart I ordered the right size. I had doubts when I tried them on. I didn't make it to the end of my street during my long run before I had to double back to put on the 2 in 1s because they were too big and bouncing/shifting all over my waist and inset liner.
On deck that should arrive tomorrow: Oiselle Rogas and Fancy Strides in the correct size. I wanted to try the Athleta sonar shorts but they're backordered until after Pgh.
I've decided that if nothing else works, I'm running in my tri shorts, chamois diaper line be damned. Or if those don't work, I'll take them off mid-race and run realllllly fast to the finish.
I'm bummed that the Athleta 2-in-1 shorts didn't work for you. They're like my holy grail shorts.
I like Rogas for shorter distances, but I have chafing problems on longer runs, even if I use a ton of body glide or aquaphor. I think body glide lasts about 2 hours on me, but I sweat too much for it to last for a full marathon.
