I just came across this little novella that goes along with Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore. It's called Ajax Penumbra 1969. It looks like it's Mr. Penumbra's backstory and how he got involved with the bookstore.

So, a little story about this novella. My sister and I just adore Robin Sloan. He's so engaging and fun. We went to see him speak about books and technology a while back. My sister mentioned that she really wanted to read this novella, but she was (at the time) being admittedly stubborn about digital books. She was asking if it would ever be published as a paper book. At the time, it hadn't been released other than digitally.
He sweetly offered to send her one of his personal copies. He took down her address and sure enough, it showed up at her house a few days later, along with a note from Robin. She treasures that memento from a favorite author, and I'm really jealous!
Side note: My sister totally has a Kindle now. Brat.
