Are you enjoying it? Do you plan to finish it this long weekend? (It's ANZAC Day Monday in Australia/New Zealand.)
QOTW: Do you change your reading based on what's happening in the world/news? For example: DH read The Man Who Sold the World in January when we heard that David Bowie died; I read The Assassination of the Archduke in July 2014 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI.
I'm listening to The Cuckoo's Calling and reading Bound to Shadows. I just started the latter last night, but it's a reread so I like it. I'm enjoying The Cuckoo's Calling, but I haven't had a ton of time to devote to the audio so I'm only 1/3 through. I'm trying to come up with conspiracy theories, but I'm doing a poor job.
QOTW: I don't typically based on world events. Occasionally, but rarely. I'm not much a a Non-Fiction reader.
I'm still reading Native American Testimony and started The Slow Regard of Silent Things. I'd DNF Slow if it weren't under 200 pages. So disappointing, but I do plan to finish it this weekend so I can start The Boys in the Boat for my IRL bookclub.
QOTW : Not usually, maybe add to my TBR list. I often read things related to places I'll be travelling though. I plan to read the stuart saga series prior to a British Isles cruise this summer. (I live in Europe, so not as glamorous as it sounds).
Real book: Still plowing through The Last Founding Father: James Monroe and a Nation's Call to Greatness by Harlow Giles Unger. I have something like 50 pages left, so I think I'll probably finish this weekend. My goal was to be done before my little vacay to Philadelphia next weekend. It's really good. I knew little to nothing about Monroe going into my Presidential challenge, and now he's definitely one of my favorite founding fathers.
Kindle book: The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman. I've read so many amazing reviews of this book, but I'm only about 7% into it, so I don't have much of an opinion yet. The writing is great, though.
Audiobook: Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King, thanks to that suspense list someone posted the other day. This one was the only one immediately available at my library, and DH has been bugging me to read it for a while now because he bought the second one in the series already. So far I really like it. I'm on disc 4 of 12.
These are numbers 11-13 for the year for me, but I don't really have a goal.
QOTW: Sometimes. It depends on the events and my general level of interest in them. I often add books to my TBR based on current events, and I like to read non-fiction or novels set in places where I'm travelling, too. I think it's been a combination of this upcoming trip to Philly and all of the current election drama that has had me reading so much early American and constitutional history lately. Even DH is currently reading a George Washington bio.
I'm almost done with listening to Red Rising by Pierce Brown. I'm still struggling with it. I really want to like it, but I'm still having a hard time getting into it. I don't think I would have finished it if it weren't something I was reading for book club.
I'm reading The Magician's Land. I'm basically just hate reading now because I don't like leaving trilogies unfinished, but this series has just been awful for me.
I'm listening to Modern Romance which is not at all what I thought it would be, but I am really enjoying it.
QOTW: I don't change my reading habits for anyone or anything:)
I'm reading "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" and listening to "Staked" by Kevin Hearne which is the 8th (and latest) book in his Iron Druid Chronicles (urban-fantasy) series. I'm loving both.
frog, willyh19, Modern Romance wasn't at all what I was expecting either, but I wound up really enjoying it. It made me glad that I'm not single right now. I'm not sure I could do it - it seems like there are so many new "rules" and it's all just so different now. DH and I have been together for 16 years.

I'm still on all the same books I was on last week. Not moving too fast I guess. QOTW: Events don't really change what I read, I think the only thing that does is when an anticipated release comes out and I'm in the middle of something else. I'll drop it for that book.
I'm reading Dreamfever (fever series #4). Loving the series so far.
QOTW: No, I don't change what I'm reading based on current events. It sometimes causes me to add books to my TBR list if I'm interested in the subject.

I am reading Dirty by Kylie Scott. The beginning was okay but the last half is just meh for me. I took a break from Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr but will probably finish both books up this weekend.

I finished Evicted this week. So enlightening, but very hard to read. I think it was especially hard for me because I am from Milwaukee and consider the city my home.
I'm following that up with The Duke and I. I need some light, easy reading!
It's really good and very well written but I had no idea it would be so sad and depressing! The description on the book jacket doesn't really give you a good idea of what it is about. Still it kept me turning pages to see what would happen.
I just started the Nightingale. I've been meaning to read it for ages because it seem like the type of book I am supposed to like but kept putting it off.

I'm eating Tempest in a Teapot. It's an enjoyable enough mystery romp, but I'm not really warming up to the characters. I doubt I'll seek out the rest of the series.
QOTW: Not usually, though I did want to read something about WWI for the centennial anniversary. And a couple of times I have planned my reading to coincide with my vacation destinations so I'm reading books set in the places while in those places, but usually I just read what I want to without regard for the rest of the world.
Surprise, surprise, I am still reading The Cider House Rules.
It is the book that never ends, and also I set it aside for a week to read The Thirteenth Tale for my book club (which I finished yesterday afternoon). I definitely won't be finishing it this weekend. I need to keep it set aside for awhile because I need to start The Aviator's Wife for my other book club.
I'm almost done with listening to Red Rising by Pierce Brown. I'm still struggling with it. I really want to like it, but I'm still having a hard time getting into it. I don't think I would have finished it if it weren't something I was reading for book club.
I'm reading HP3 for a re-read.
QOTW: Not usually.
I wasn't a huge fan of Red Rising, because it felt like the author took all other dystopian YA fiction and threw it in a blender to get his novel. And I haven't read Morning Star yet, but I actually liked Golden Son better - the second one felt significantly more original and I felt like the author had gotten more experience and the writing was higher quality.
I'm finishing up a trashy book #4, the first book was free and then I bought the sequels. The writer definitely got better with her characters by the 4th, but so not worth buying it, lol.
I have Rebel.Yell downloaded and should start reading it today. I had it before Jackson $20 bill news.
Not usually, but sometimes world events pique my interest in an author or subject.
I'm having trouble staying focused on one book right now so I'm reading Jane Eyre, The Golem And The Jinni, and about to start the new Nora Roberts book The Obsession.

I'm working on Written In My Own Heart's Blood and finally making progress, but I won't be done this weekend. My goal is to finish by the end of April.
