This is our garage gym. Well, part of it, anyway. I don't have a picture of the other side, but we have our old futon in there, plus an old stereo system, a table, and baskets on the wall for exercise bands, notebooks, yoga mats, balls, etc etc. I can snap a pic of the rest of in when I'm out there in an hour or so

Here's the rest of it. It's an unfinished space, the previous owners used it for their car restoration hobby. We eventually plan to get more of the thicker rubber to replace the thin pads, but that's taking a backseat to kitchen renos. We've been piecing it together since 2010, starting in the basement of our old house. We just add things as we need them. Almost everything was bought used, except the flooring and the kettlebells. I'd like to add a mirror for form checking and a better fan. It gets really hot on the treadmill. We could also use a weight tree or stand of some sort, the plates are stacked on the ground. I guess it just adds to the workout, but it drives me crazy

theoriginalbean has given me gym envy! Except I live in an apartment, so I can't really have a garage gym Is the thick rubber a stall mat? All I see on IG is that people get stall mats from horse supply stores for their gym flooring and seem to love the price/quality.

No, they're actually gym mats that he got from a local place that was going out of business, but I was still greatly irritated by the price
I'm definitely going to look into stall mats when we finish it out, thanks for the tip!
ETA: I lied. I just told him about this AMAZING tip that someone gave me, and he said that's exactly where they came from, but it wasn't a fitness story going out of business, it was a tractor supply store. Apparently I just make things up in my head and I'm cheap.
We are city mice, so my "home gym" consists of a bike trainer in a one-car garage that is in desperate need of de-cluttering, so that I can actually fit my car in it again.

Trust me, I'd trade the home gym for a place in the city, any day. It's the working from home and the requirement of that extra space that pushed us waaaaaaaaaaaay across the water into what might as well be Antarctica. I'm hoping to make it over to that side in the next few years, it would be the only benefit to my job disappearing.
Our gym is just a treadmill and a few kettle bells. We actually have another area upstairs with yoga mats, foam rollers, and exercise balls so we don't have to walk all the way downstairs to stretch

That's so nice you'll have a customized, dedicated space!
We used to have a tidy little gym in the "bonus room" area attached to our master bedroom. Then we decided the treadmill was too loud to be on the second floor once DS1 (light sleeper) came along. I wanted our treadmill to stay in climate controlled area of the house (i.e. not our stuffy, humid garage) so our indoor running situation currently looks like this
However, if i had to choose one item to give up it would be the treadmill. My must haves are the elliptical and spin bike. I have the ability to run outside, but the ability to also cross train at home is important to me. (Caveat: We currently live somewhere where the weather is fine to run outdoors year round. The treadmill will get more use once we live somewhere that gets snow and ice).
We also have some different hand weights, kettlebells, and exercise DVDs that should get more use than they currently do.

Hope the upload worked, sorry if it's huge. Hard to get a good angle, but here's ours. We have a rower, basic weight bench and plates, thanks to my bil upgrading theirs, and to the left in the corner is an elliptical and misc free weights.
My three favorite things are 1)the rubber mat flooring- we bought a huge roll from a gym place online and dh placed it over the concrete 2)my rower and 3) the pushTV adapter so I can play videos from my phone and they go to the TV. I do a lot of fitness Blender and do yoga with me videos. Oh- and 4) the wall mounted oscillating fan because I get super sweaty when I exercise
When we remodeled our basement several years ago, we put in a dedicated workout room. We use it for a little bit of everything. My husband does his karate and practices kicks and punches on his heavy bag. I use the barre and mirror for my ballet. We have a pull up bar attached to the floor joists of the main floor since this is in the basement. The bench and free weights take care of most of our workout needs. We have odds and ends like medicine balls, push-up handles, resistance bands, exercise ball, mats, etc. Our TV is connected to the home automation so we can access youtube, workout videos on the system, or music from Pandora/other music streaming or on the system. I wish we had chosen a different floor for the workout room vs. running the main floor into the room. I plan to get a marley dance floor to lay down.
