This week is my 8k on Saturday. I'm going to go for it - felt great in my workout this morning.
But I'm debating... Open water or pool?
Important info: Open water will be a little cooler than race temps. R will kayak and do feeds and such. Pool will likely be a lot warmer than race temps and I'd have to manage my own feeds. I'm leaning toward open water because 4.5 miles in the pool sounds awful. But open water is kind of scary because of boats and water temp.
I think open water. You have so much pool swimming on your schedule. I say open water whenever possible. Your H can be very visible to boats, right? Like balloons and other methods? Where would you do the 8k?

Probably Folsom. Clementine is still a little too cold. And yes, our kayak is high visibility orange. It's just terrifying because Folsom has no speed limit and boats don't slow down even near the shoreline.

You could. . If it doesn't work out, though, let me know. We'll be in vt/NH for about a week and a half, so I'm sure a gtg could happen regardless.
Way up north the whole time? Or all over?
Uh, we'll fly into either Burlington or Manchester, then be in Newport for about 4 days, then we'll be in the Keene area of NH for a bit. Other areas may be possible, that's just what I know right now.
