I'm sitting the car. It's raining and Ethan has a football game and I'm waiting until the last minute to go out and watch. I feel like shit still. My BFF thinks I had the flu. I got no rest and now I'm going to be standing in the rain at sports all day. To top it off my house is a disaster and my husband invited friends over for dinner tonight. He's been working crazy hours on a project and hasn't been able to help out.
Ha!! A ran up and told me she was so big because her shorts said for 6 year olds, but they were too small for her. Because they were E's 6m shorts. It's even more funny because they almost fit.
J has been telling the boys for a few months that when the weather got nice enough, he would take them fishing. It's something that XH promised to do a million times, but of course never followed through. We went and picked up fishing poles and stuff last night, and he woke them up at 5:45 this morning. They were all 3 so excited. Micah has really been struggling lately (we're on the cusp of puberty, hold me!) and he just couldn't stop smiling. I heard them asking him if me and Lexi were going too, and he told them nope, it was just the guys. I heard them making bets on who was going to catch the most fish. They left with the biggest smiles on their faces.
I love that man so much.
This brought tears to my eyes. I'm so happy for you. You and those kids deserve this happiness!
I teared up as they were leaving bc they just looked so happy. Life is good

With that info I would look for a change. While liking your coworkers is a important part of teaching, if you aren't happy in your current role then something needs to change.
I'm sorry this year has been so rough. I've had one hell of a year as well. GL with whatever you decide!
imimahoney thanks! I'm trying to get into my husband's district but having difficulty due to too many years experience and too much education.
Yeah, that's a reason why I haven't even tried to move. I love where I am but sometimes think about a change.
I'm so expensive now, 10+ years with masters plus additional 45 credits. I teach HS so if someone wants a new AP teacher I'd be desirable but most districts are not interested in a super experienced and expensive college prep teacher.
I am AP certified but not sure if I want to teach it forever.
Are you desirable/would finding a new position be hard? Are you wanting more of a challenge? Are you burnt out?
I have multiple new preps this year with little support, but love teachers I work with. We are changing to be K-4 next year so I can switch schools or stay. I guess I'm burnt out.
Are you sure grass is greener on the other side? We have 2 elementary schools in my district. Many people don't like my principal but the people at the other school are just as unhappy with theirs, but in a different way.
I love my team that I work on, and that helps a lot.

Double infection. Poor guy
He was rx amox for 10 days. My Dh forgot but when A was 7 months old he broke out in an amox rash so we've avoided it since. I've always just told his pedi or whomever he saw. He didn't remember so he didn't tell the doc. I told him to tell the pharmacist and see what they say. Shoot.

Had the best morning at the nail salon with Violet! She has been asking to go for her birthday. She kept saying "it's JUST for me! Not Ruby! Just a day for me and mama!"
I work at our company HQ. We have 4 remotes in my division .Yesterday they were told to decide by Tuesday if they want to move to HQ (they live in Wisconsin, 2 in California and 1 in Washington state). If they decide not to move they are done. If they are going to move they have 6 weeks to move here. None of them will move. A combined 75 years of experience and knowledge let go. No real reason to make them move to HQ. We are already down 4 people. They are going to fill the all but now we're down 8 people and will have to take even more time to train them. It takes people 2 years to become competent at what we do and we are slammed right now. So sad for my friends. Just completely bummed.

With everything going on this week, I totally forgot we had a birthday party to go to today. A heard me talking to DH about it in the next room the other night, so I couldn't not bring. I'm bumming that I won't be able to get up the hospital to see my Dad until after 5 tonight now
We brought A to TRU to surprise her and pick out a new bike today and she was that asshole kid screaming in the store, so we left with nothing. So far, 4 is not proving to be better than 3, lol.

Finn has decided that it's cool to wake up hourly at night, and then wake up to poop at 6am. Blowout poop. Every day. What happened to my once a week pooper?
We're going to a birthday party at a park today. It's at a nature park I've been wanting to go to, so I'm excited.
Luke is doing awesome in swim class but this level it jumps in complexity. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to do the lessons 2x a week instead of 1. We will be in the pool playing (with puddle jumper) most days regardless
I'm going AW myself. I made a chocolate and yellow swirl cake and with peanut butter and chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream frosting for B's birthday with Firetruck decorations. It's not anything to Pinterest about, but he loved it!
Tenure is so hard to leave. I don't know about your state but mine has made it way harder to obtain and keep. I would not feel comfortable giving that up unless I really knew the situation I was going into. I have a lot of preps as well and have gone through some pretty awful things this year. I also have a lot of experience so it would be hard to move (expensive like imimahoney said).
I have to say, after one thing that happened this year, I have gained a new perspective. I can deal with changing work load or duties if I at least feel safe and protected (which I did not at all for a while). I would see how the building changes play out and try to relax this summer and go from there. Maybe give it a year with the new setup? Best of luck!
