Ugh.....Ramsay. I couldn't watch the dog scene. Ramsay started unlatching the dog's cages and I bounced. I did the 'Nope Nope Nope' and got myself a bowl of cereal. My husband asked if he should pause it and I said, "No....can't watch that sort of thing, go ahead"
I don't really get Davos would ask Mel to bring him back. Who is Jon Snow to Davos? A fairly competent Lord Commander? Why does he care so much? and isn't he supposed to distrust Mel?
This also seemed odd to me. It would be more believeable if someone with 1st hand knowledge of what had happened with that red priest (blanking on his name) had done to Dondarrian (sp?) in the woods that Arya, Gendry & the Hound had witnessed.
Having Davos ask her felt forced, and not of his character.
I had to leave the room for the baby thing. Even H was swearing.
I'm kind of over it TBH. Kind of like with Joffrey it just got old....we get it, he's messed up and insane and sadistic. That was just overly gruesome.
The GoT producers love evil Ramsay and I'm over it. Sure, he's vile and disturbed but it's like they sacrifice other plots and screen time to show us his vile torture porn. They use him for shock value and I can't wait until he's gone. I don't think he adds anything to the story and he definitely doesn't have such an outsized role in the books IMO.

Yeah it's just unnecessary now. We already know he's the literal worst. Use those minutes to make something interesting happen to Bran for once, or maybe tell us whatever happened to the littlest Stark kid.

This 100%. It got to be the same way with Joffrey (when he was shooting prostitutes with crossbows, etc.) Every scene they're in adds nothing to the overall story. They may kill another major character from time to time, but all they really do is repeat basically the same scene again and again....there's no nuance or subtlety to it. It's disgusting and is not very well written.

In the previews, Ramsey was shown at Winterfell and one of his men said "we have a present for you."
Rickon? Since this episode Roose said as long as a Stark lived they'd never have claim on the north?

I'm pretty sure that's the case. And I also am fairly certain it's a freaking Umber dropping off Rickon which also makes me mad. Like, wtf?!!!! Boltons are why an Umber is held hostage at the twins!! I think they are probably going to have the Karstarks, Umbers and Manderlys be the force Ramsay relies on. Probably with Manderly forces betraying him.
But really. The Umbers delivering Rickon Stark to Ramsay?!??
In the books, Davos and Manderly are the only ones who know where Rickon is, and they're off to fetch him to support Stannis' claim. I was hoping that the reason Davos is at the wall is so that Sansa or Brienne gets there and passes along the "Rickon is alive" message, so he can head off to Skagos to fetch him. Poor little Stark.
Side note, does anyone else feel like GRRM accidentally wrote too many Stark children and just doesn't know what to do with Rickon? I'm sure he had something significant planned, but it feels like he's been forgotten. I definitely won't recognize him when he reappears in the show, considering how long it's been since we've seen him, and the others (esp Bran) have already aged so much!

With where he was being sent, the possibility of crazy magic/dangerous things happening seemed pretty high if I remember correctly. Maybe they won't even go for the trying to have us remember and have it be more of "Rickon? What happened to you?!"
Is (was) Roose Bolton really that naive? I mean, come on dude.
SHOULD HAVE STABBED HIM INSTEAD!!!
I wasn't sure who stabbed whom at first. Because I thought they both had the motive to and thought Roose would have been smart enough to do so. Did he not realize how fucked up his son is?!
When they were talking and Ramsay goes "That means a lot to me", I thought "Oh, Roose, please realize how creepy that is" THEN I realized someone was being stabbed and I had a fleeting thought of "OH! Good, Roose does realize and he just stabbed Ramsay!" and then... well.
DH was like "That was really dumb. Roose is the only one around there w/ any brains".
And I agree- WE GET IT! RAMSAY IS EVIL!! CAN WE MOVE ON NOW?!?!?!?!
Davos- he may not know exactly what happened, but I assumed that w/ Mel showing up at the wall alone, he realized that Stannis et all were probably dead.
Tyrion needs his own thread w/ all his great lines from the episode. He was hysterical. "I drink and I know things.".

I think Rickon is meant to be a rallying point for the Northern houses and a reason for the other northern lords to work against Bolton and unite. I think may he also seem like a useless character because of his age and may suffer from the lack of the five year gap initially planned. I think Skagos may also have some magic that might be necessary in the eventual battle with the others.
But I kind of suspect that won't make it into the show and I am not convinced Rickon survives the book series.
CEP will appreciate this line of the EW recap: "Enter Bernie Sparrow, who comes in to chat with Jaime and spout his usual rhetoric about how his impoverished followers are ready to rise up to overthrow the elite. "
I totally said that to DH - I was like, "Look, it's Bernie Sanders!"
