He's baaack! But. Is anyone else a little afraid that he won't be the same Jon?
Like what if Melissandre transferred some of her crazy into him? The lady has made some poor choices to say the least.
I remember reading that Beric Dondarrion loses some sort of part of him whenever he gets ressurected....
But shiiiit, the game has changed so who knows what the writers are up to.
DAMMIT. WHERE'S THE BLOODY SIXTH BOOK, GRRM?
Really, not even sure if I care at this point. He makes me angry with all these delays.
I suspect Jon Snow will be perfectly fine. In the prologue of ADWD, we get the story of the skinchanger dude who wargs into an animal or two and a human. When Jon "dies" I think he wargs into Ghost, and there's a lot more focus on his connection (and possible warging) in the books. So that preserves his mind in a way that Dondarrion's isn't, or like Stoneheart is totally batshit but has some cognizance of revenge, lol. Melissandre brings his body back, and I think why he didn't immediately WAKE UP when everyone was there was because he was still warged into Ghost. So instead of staying in Ghost or finding another human host like that skinchanger dude, he just goes back to his regular body with his same mind/persona/etc. intact.
No way. There is no reference to Tyrion being a Targaryan. There is a reference to the Mad King potentially raping Tywin's wife on their wedding night by Barristan to Daenerys when posed with the question as to whether or not her father ever loved anyone. Therefore Jaime and Cersie , being older than Tyrion and as such are Targaryans. The ultimate irony being that Tywin's only legitimate heir being Tyrion. Which is why Tywin hated Tyrion so much. There's also a line in the book from Tywin's sister, when talking to Jamie, essentially claiming Tyrion is Tywin's only son. Also, Cersie and Joffery's craziness can be associated with the Targaryan Mad Rage, as well as, Cersie and Jamie's affair is a trait of Targaryans.
INTERESTING.
So how does Tyrion have a gift with the dragons then?

This would make sense.
I think in the first book, the prologue introduces the others, and the guy who deserts that Ned kills in the first episode. I can't remember the other prologues specifically (besides the 5th book with the skinchanger), but I think they all have some kind of information that is important to the overall story but not from POV characters. Because the books are told in shifting POV from main characters, which is always interesting because then you have the added fun of the internal monologue and the unreliable narrator, esp in geographic areas where you only have one person's POV.
I will be very surprised if there is anything wrong with Jon Snow. I think that's the point of learning about Dondarrion, Stoneheart and skinchanger throughout the series, as well as Jon's warging ability with Ghost. In the books, it seems more obvious that all the Stark kids have some sort of connection or warging ability with their direwolves (except Sansa since Lady dies) to varying degrees. Bran is obviously the most powerful, Jon and Arya both have wolf dreams at night, and there are references to how Robb and Grey Wind fight together in battle.
Coming in late to this...but OMG, this show is on a motherfucking roll!
Bran/Treecave:
I'll be the first to admit that by S4, Bran's storyline was, well, boring to me, but not anymore. When he flashed back to Winterfell, to a much kinder, simpler time, it was like slipping under a warm blanket.
I squealed out loud when I saw Ned! And Benjen! And Lyanna! And Willis/Hodor!
And just like the Ghost of Christmas Past pulled Scrooge away from Fezziwig's party far too soon, the Three-Eyed Raven pulled him back. Bran's statement, "You finally show me something I care about and then you drag me away." So much word, dude.
Castle Black - I knew the wildlings would arrive to save the day, starting with the wonderful Wun Wun, and all the real traitors, including that snot-nosed Ollie, get what's coming to them. I second (or is it third) the sentiment that Tormund is pretty damn hot.
King's Landing - Tommen is pretty useless here but his days are numbered. He's the only one who doesn't get that. Shut up, Sparrow, and because it can't be said enough, shut up, Sparrow!
Mereen - The feels when Tyrion was talking about wanting a dragon as a boy to the chained up dragons and LOL when after he released one of them, the other one presented his enchained neck as if to say, me next, me next! I think there is a very good reason the dragons didn't make immediate BBQ of him.
Ayra - This is the one storyline that's moving a little slow for me, but a Girl is Patient and it was nice to see Jaqen again.
Winterfell - I knew that baby was doomed the second the Maester announced "It's a boy!" What I was not expecting was Daddy Roose to go out first. My mouth dropped open but that asshole has deserved to die since the Red Wedding (or more like when he let Ramsey become what he is). Payback is a bitch, huh, Roose? Walda and the baby and the dogs...never, ever forget this is GoT after all.
Somewhere between Winterfell/Castle Black - I loved the reveal to Sansa about Ayra and her smile at Brienne's description of Ayra's attire the first and last time they met. The hug between Theon and Sansa. I kind of liked the idea of Theon staying with Sansa and wonder what awaits him in Pyke, but at least this will silence the whole Sansa is being used to prop Theon discussion which is utter rubbish.
Speaking of Pyke - so another one on my list (Arya's not the one one with a list, you know) bites the dust. You seem as much of an ego-maniac as Ramsey, Euron, but you offed the insufferable Balon, so I'll reserve judgment - for now...and wow, Euron looks more like Theon's father than Balon. Hmm...
Back to Castle Black - Loved Davos, of all people, cheering Melisandre on, his faith in her and really, Jon, is that certain. The moment Ghost stirred, even though hope was seemingly lost, was the moment I knew what we've all known, deep down inside, Jon Snow is back.
I have to say, I haven't enjoyed a season more since S1 and we have ToJ next week???
This season and show are truly the gift that keeps on giving...and makes me a little worried that we are being set up for a fall where our faves are concerned.

I know. I said my Tyrion evidence was flimsy but b I want to believe! If Cersei gets to ride a dragon I will be furious.

I even love Jaime, but I would be pissed if he got a dragon too.
Agreed. I HAS to be Tyrion.
I saw an article where mathematicians calculated the main character of GOTs. They used an algorithm including how many chapters each character got, relationships between the characters and the result was Tyrion. It HAS to be him!
Can we also talk the "previews" after the episode? Who were the men in armor fighting?
Kings Guard. Flashback to Tower of Joy. The guy who says "no this is where it ends" or whatever is Robert's Rebellion era Ned Stark. All that takes place after Robert has won the rebellion and Ned goes there to get his sister, Lyanna. Rhaegar's kings guard is there with her... and possibly other people.
I don't understand why none of the Stark kids knew that Hodor's name was Willas, and that he used to talk. I mean, Ned and Benjen and Nan all knew him as Willas. Why didn't that info get passed on?

But they didn't threaten Missendi (sp?) either. She has never been harmed by any of them. Like Tyrion said, they are more intelligent than people give them credit for--they're probably able to sense friend v foe.

"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
I had to change the channel when Ramsay took out Walda and the baby. I can watch a lot of really fucked up shit but that and Shireen... I can't watch kids/babies get murdered.
I laughed so hard when Tyrion was like "If I ever have another idea like that, punch me in the face."

I know. I love that Jon is alive but hate that it's the Red Woman who did it. Every time I watch the Shereen episode it makes me hate her and Stannis even more. It was horrid.
And Walda and the baby are a close second. Ugh too much for me. But the difference is we already hate Ramsey. I feel like we aren't supposed to hate Melissandre and now she's almost a hero.
And believe me I don't think Melissandre belongs in the category of Ramsey or Joffrey. I didn't hate her. But I didn't really like her either. I thought she was a character we shouldn't trust fully because all she cared about was her Lord of Light mission and if that meant burning a child at the stake, so be it! So I wanted Jon brought back some other way but whatever. I'll take what I can get!
OMFG my in-laws were talking during the part when Melly was whispering her spells and DH was all "Guys, shut up."
*silence*
Followed by massive chaos.
I read something today where Carice Van Houten was talking about how she had to rub Kit Harington down like 55,000 times and she said she eventually hit a point where she was like "can he just wake up now?" And apparently her mom and sister have a huge crush on him, which he thinks is just fantastic. Lol! She did admit he's got quite a nice body. Haha
I wasn't the slightest bit surprised that Jon is back. Now we'll have something REALLY yummy to look at.
The only thing I have to add is DS#3 showed up seven minutes before the episode ended. I WAS PISSED I had to open the effen door for him. lol
Lucy called out begging for a snack right AFTER Walda and the baby were in the kennel. I had to pause
Yeah my 4 year old walked into the living room right when Tyrion was walking up to the dragons. I had to cover his eyes while I fumbled for the remote. I knew the dragons would give him nightmares.

He looked kinda frail when he was laying on the table though! Is it just me?

So I just love Brienne so much that I want to marry her if I ever divorce DH. So much Brienne love.
Doesn't anyone think it's odd that Ser Davos hasn't asked what became of Shireen?? I'm assuming by this point he knows Stannis is a goner, or something. Don't you think he would have asked the Red Woman what was going on when she left?
