I would like neither of those options. I don't shop at Nordstroms. I do like spa stuff, but I hate to give gift cards to things like that because it leaves the recipient on the hook for the tip.
Actually, I gave my bridesmaids GCs to spas local to them and then tucked in cash that would cover a 20% tip.
I have a million gift cards for places I don't go. It sucks. I'd prefer Visa GC/straight up cash...as ridiculous/tacky as that sounds. Hell, I'm even sitting on a $200 Amazon GC I don't know what to do with.
I can spend $200 @amazon in a heartbeat.
Nordstrom I would need at least $500-1000 and at that value I would rather have cash.
Do Visa gift cards still do that thing where if the purchase is more than what is left on the card, you have to know the exact amount left on the card to use it? I always hated when that happened.
I think for the amount you're giving, Nordstrom is nice.

The "high end" mall here offers gift cards that can be used at any store in the mall. If that's an option, I'd consider it. I would easily use a Nordstrom gift card, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Amazon would be my first choice. Of your options, I'd like the Nordstrom card better than the others. I don't like to go out to eat, and like a pp I don't like to be touched much.

I love mall gcs! It is good for any store, spa or restaurant in the mall. With as much as you are giving that would be a lovely splurge day for them.

lol at "I can't even step foot in Nordstrom for less than $500!". Sweet Christ, people, this is a gift and there are a million things to buy in Nordstrom for $100 or less that I would probably never buy myself, so having a GC there would be amazing.
I'd suck up the activation costs and get a Visa GC.
No, these are the worst. I immediately buy a grocery store gift card with them just to be done with them. They are too fussy. Part of it is my anxiety from working retail. Some cards if you are even 1 penny over it will deny the charge and then hold the money. and then the annoyance of returning anything bought with one of those. Some stores will only return to the card your purchased with or will just give their store credit. Nope. I don't even want to deal with any of that.
Because a Visa GC is essentially just cash with a fee attached. I'd rather not pay a fee.
IDK, I agree that unless it substantial ($100), Nordstrom is limiting. But you know the people you are gifted so go with that.
Seriously? They sell all kinds of little things. Even a $10 gift card wouldn't leave me spending much more than maybe a dollar or two to use on something.
