Wow, that's disturbing. That was a huge list. We had the Trader Joe's peas, but not the lot number listed. So we should be ok, right? Or should I toss them just in case?

If the lot number isn't listed then I guess you're clear but I don't know. If I understand it correctly, this recall is an expansion of an earlier recall so I personally plan to toss anything that I have from any of the brands listed.
Glad I haven't bought any frozen veggies in months. And now I'm pretty sure I'm not going to, at least for the next six months or so. For obvious reasons, I can't risk it. Scary.
This makes me so angry. They have been producing listeria infected fruits and veggies for over 2 years before catching it. Do they not test for this more regularly?
I'm pregnant and diligently avoiding deli meat and soft serve and meanwhile the fruits and veggies in my freezer could be fatal. What CAN I eat?

I give up. I have been trying to eat well, but am exhausted. Frozen veggies are easy, so I use them a lot in the winter. And I've been buying from Trader Joes. Who knows at this point if I've eaten contaminated or recalled veggies.
Won't cooking the veggies kill the listeria bacteria? I get why it's a big deal with frozen fruit, lunch meat, ice cream (I'm looking at you, Blue Bell), but who doesn't cook frozen veggies before eating them?

this is where I'm at. though, I guess you could just thaw a bag of veggies and toss it in a salad or other cold/precooked dish.
i also noticed that the Live Smart brand is on there - which I think is the brand that we buy through schwann's - but they don't include all the veggies (we buy the steamable broccoli & green beans), so maybe those aren't packaged by CRF?

I microwave frozen veggies for the girls all the time, and often not every piece will get hot. Particularly with peas. I don't think I've bought any of the brands on this list, but now I'm anxious about the recall expanding to other brands that aren't listed yet. I guess I will just make sure to heat everything until steaming. And buy fresh fruits instead of frozen.
Hence, why I so very rarely cook frozen veggies in the microwave. Stove FTW!

Nothing seems safe anymore. I need to become a farmer.
What makes me full of rage is that the food pantry I have been going to (and hope to stop soon) suddenly had a influx of frozen veggies. I didn't take any since J will only eat fresh steamed broccoli or corn. I bet that the stuff that had was recalled and people donated it. Why would they suddenly have so many frozen veggies when that hadn't before? Ugg.
I was at a Safeway last night and I noticed employees pulling entire shelves of frozen veggies and taking them to the back in shopping carts. I guess this explains what they were doing, but I didn't look closely to see whether they were pulling all the items produced by CRF or just the currently recalled items.

I imagine people may use some things in smoothies (especially frozen fruit) so there'd certainly be a risk for them. But you're right, cooking thoroughly at a high temperature should kill the Listeria. It's still frightening that it's so widespread.

A lot of people with toddlers who love frozen corn and peas.
We definitely had the Trader Joes organic veggies. and we definitely ate them.
Awesome.
I was at TJ's last night. The peas are still on the list but the corn is actually ok. It shouldn't have been included in the recall (so they say). I had already tossed my corn. We ate the peas last week :/
I got an email from Costco that we had purchased something but nothing in my freezer is on the list. I guess I will just bring the food back anyway?
I just got a text saying the same thing and am freaking out a little because I'm pregnant. H said he looked at the list before and didn't see anything we'd bought, so I wonder if they're sending that out for all fruits/veggies JIC?
