I just got curious after reading the runiversary thread, and popped onto MMR to flip back through my workouts and see what mine would actually be.
It's hilarious and frustrating to go back in time and see these random false starts from 2009 through 2014 where I'd have two or three runs in a week and then nothing again for 2-6 months. It looks like running and I started officially going steady in July 2014. I ran my first 5k with no walk breaks on 9/6/14 after finally finishing C25k. Ran my first no walking 10k on 11/9/14 2 weeks before I POAS to find out I was having DS. I took a break once the ice started happening that winter while KTFU, and and got back on the wagon to run that same 10k again in 2015 two minutes faster.
That's just fun to look back on. I love data.
But I guess for my two year runiversary I'm doing my first tri! yay!

Can I whine?
I've been sick all week with some sort of nasty sinus/sore throat thing. Yesterday I got up at 4:45 to go to Chicago for the day to finish stuff for a big project due next week. It ended up being one of those days everything was going wrong and we weren't able to get stuff done so I have to go back there tomorrow. And my mom just texted me to let me know their divorce is finalized. I'm trying not to drink during the week. This might not work.
My super-skinny, crazy high metabolism cube-mate likes to as a lot of questions about my diet. She's 'never had to diet' before, so she just doesn't know. It's coming from an innocent place but I may strangle her.
The earlier yoga class on Tuesdays is an ashtanga class that is taught by an older woman who lurrrrrrves Sanksrit. She's...intense. I have absolutely no idea what's happening and I kind of hate it. But I go to bed so early that it's my only option lol.

Eww. I hate comments on what I'm eating. Hate.
Same! In college I didn't eat for the first few months because people always ALWAYS made comments about food. Took me a while to get over it.

Yeah, my cousin's husband was talking about how he was trying to eat everything he could was was still losing weight. STFU!

I feel self conscious sometimes because I eat three times while I'm at work (morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack). I'm hungry! HOW ARE *YOU* NOT HUNGRY?!

oh, yeah...no, that would get old FAST.
I have so little patience for that. Like MH will occasionally offer his commentary on the dietary habits of our mutual friends to me. (like, "hey isn't A trying to lose weight? What's with the donuts at their house?") and I just want to strangle him. He's never dieted in his life. His idea of going on a diet was to stop eating second lunch at work when there were meeting leftovers. He lost 10 lbs.
Even if he's right (I mean...donuts are rarely a good plan) still. SHUSH. Nobody asked you.

So much this. H is the same way and we've had to have many a CTJ talk about it. Also about the fact that he talks about my weight with his family. I have enough psychological baggage when it comes to my weight, I don't need you talk about it with everyone too.

Right? Sometimes I NEED second breakfast. #emergencyburrito.

I bewilders me that my coworkers can go all day without eating sometimes.
I don't understand these people. I feel like saying that's good for you but no one wants to see me without getting lunch.
Like, I NEED to eat. If you don’t feed me, I’ll just stop.
H has finally learned that he needs to feed me regularly on the weekend or I get hangry. For some reason it's hilarious to hear him say hangry, but if it keeps me in food...

This. And also it blows my mind about the misconceptions and downright stupid ideas my work people have about diet. Doing cleanses, going on those medi diet things with "vitamins", cutting out entire food groups. Most if not all of these people have a biology background. #science, people!

The shock on my mother's face every time I eat breakfast is kind of hilarious. You're eating ASPARAGUS for BREAKFAST?! Yeah, I get it's a little different but it's still food! You would think I'm eating a small child for breakfast.
Hey, this is a random mostly because it's SUCH absurd planning ahead - but @vtcupcake and whoever else has done pittsburgh - with all those hill would it be a ridiculous choice for a first marathon? which I am not planning to do until 2018. I LIKE PLANNING OK?
My home turf is in no way flat but having also lived in pittsburgh, I realize that my hills are just...hills. Not elderly mountains.
But something about when you were talking about picking this race stuck with me, and I fell in love with the idea of going back to pittsburgh to run a marathon. I went to school there and I still have a bunch of friends and family there. I have memories all along that course. But...ummm...your recap...those hills? I mean...am I just setting myself up to not have a good time?
It's not like I have a shortage of spring marathons around here. Including nice flat ones. I could do my first locally and put pittsburgh on the bucket list for a later year. If I do a 2018 marathon I don't see myself as a once and done marathoner...pretty sure I'll try it again if I do it once so I can hit PGH eventually.

Carrots and hummus is routinely on the menu for me. I could think of worse things to eat for breakfast than asparagus.

I don't get when people say, I forgot to eat!?! What?!? I've got every meal, snack, nibble planned into most hours of my day. I long for each mealtime!

They must not be eating very yummy food. because if they were, they would never forget
My coworkers are always making comments about what I eat and how often I eat. Like STFU it doesn't involve you at all. I don't comment that one coworker never eats a veggie or that the other is always on the current fad diet yet she still eats crap food or that one other person only drinks canned diet drinks (slim fast, etc).
Why does it matter what I eat, when I eat or what I do on my lunch hour (workout, etc).

I love hilly marathons. Living in an area with lots of hills my body responds better to a marathon with elevation change. I might have a slower time, but a marathon PR isn't the end all be all for me right now. Plus as your first it would be a PR! I think you should pick a race that means something to you b/c that first will probably hurt whether it is hilly or flat. I'm thinking I might do it in 2018 as well. I already have 2017 figured out, so nothing wrong w/ advanced planning in my book
The RE and OB both cleared me to run, WOOOHOOO!!! Now to see how it goes later after 3 months on the bench.
And those "I forgot to eat!" people can go jump off a cliff. I'm hungry for lunch by 10:30am and cave by 11am 95% of the time. This usually results in having 2nd lunch at around 1:30pm.
I forget to eat sometimes. I just get distracted and lose track of time.
I think I naturally have a fairly steady blood sugar or something? I dunno. As long as I'm not KTFU, I can go for ages without eating and not feel bad. Not that I do often. I like food too much for that nonsense.
