I tend to pay a lot for coats and wear them forever. I have an $800 cashmere coat I got on sale back in 1997 for 60% off the day after Christmas. I have worn that coat every winter since then, and it still looks new on the outside - I need to find someone to replace the lining - as the fabric is so nice. I paid $350 for a gore tex jacket 10 years ago and it needs to be replaced but I can't find anything I like as much to replace it. I'll retire it when I do.
Shoes are the other thing. Since my medical misadventure, my feet are extraordinarily sensitive due to nerve damange and I just can't wear certain shoes/styles (yes, it sucks). So I tend to buy what is comfortable, regardless of price. So far, I've managed to stay under $150.
I went to Soma today for the first time. I requested a fitting but wasn't that impressed - what should a true proper fitting entail? I do love the 3 bras I purchased however
For my fitting she told me to leave me bra on and she did a quick tape measure thing. Her measurements were off, we both agreed. I left with my usual size bras.
Running shoes. I didn't even ask the price on the last ones I bought and was nicely surprised when they rang up at least $30 less than I expected to spend.
Bras.
Other workout shoes but I still try to get a deal at the outlet for them.

Did she come back in when you had on the Soma bras to see how they fit? When I had my fitting there, they would also check me in the bras to make sure they were fitting correctly.
Shoes. I have plantar fascitis and refuse to have painful feet. I used to suck it up so I could wear the cute flip flops and kitten heels, but no more.
I never spend much money on clothes since I have a very short attention span for them and change my mind often.
Cycling clothing. I'm really lucky my team is sponsored by a high end cycling clothing company, or this would be a real issue. Workout clothing. Sort of. I love Athleta.

Yes, she did. So maybe this was a normal fitting? I don't know I just thought the measuring process would be a little more exact. But it worked out, I got 3 really nice bras for $106.
Travel pants from Anatomie. We travel a lot, and they are absolutely the best pants for that I have ever found (lightweight, pack to almost nothing, dry in a snap). And they don't even look like travel pants!
