61. Wow. I'm usually not the leader on these types of polls. I almost always read the book before I see the movie, and many of these I've read and not actually SEEN the film.
I find "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" to be an odd book on this list. It's not a novel or a story, so much as a short list of the beasts - it's more like a collection of encyclopedia entries - and the movie is going to be nothing like that.
I was wondering about this one. The movie isn't out yet (right?), so it seems weird to put it on the list.

13 - I actually read a few more, but they lumped a whole series into one selection and there were times that I didn't finish the series (e.g., The Hunger Games).
I was bummed at my number, mostly because of my competitiveness. Then I looked again and realized that I don't even want to waste 2 hours watching some of these movies, nevermind the hours involved in reading the book.
I figured I'd have one of the lowest totals. But I've read a ton of books that were made into quite popular movies -- they're just not on this list. Like:
The Story of the Trapp Family Singers, Auntie Mame, Life with Mother Superior, Mama's Bank Account, The Moonspinners, Seabiscuit, The Three Musketeers, and many others.
I've read 27 but there are so many more that weren't on the list. I just finished 12 Years a Slave and was actually surprised not to see that on there. i also started reading a few that were on that list but never finished them.
