I love yarn. I think I have an equal amount, possibly more, but mine is crammed into various bins and bags. Some day I will have a craft room with an entire wall dedicated to yarn.
I will say though that a non-lame Leia beanie is hard to come by. Half the ones I've seen just recommend that you braid a bunch of brown yarn and then hot glue the whole mess together.

I was all embarrassed that as this post was loading I thought, "Oooh, I hope she PIPs!" Apparently I am in good company here thought based on PPs enthusiasm.

I keep mine in my grandfathers old armoire. One side has pretty much all drawers and I stuff the yarn in there so there's only a little bit overflowing to the other side. Now when H is all "you do not need more yarn" and I can see look there's only that little bit on the overflow side. I'm definitely not fooling anyone though
Is that your living room? Your DH is way more tolerant than mine. My yarn is stashed in three drawers in a wardrobe and DH thinks it takes up too much space. I am admittedly sort of a flaky knitter though.
Hey I just met you and this is crazy.. but could you make me a hat for my unborn baby... ;D
I totally would. I've been knitting/crocheting like crazy lately, and have so many patterns saved on Ravelry that I don't have nearly enough recipients, lol.
I just finished a bunting bag for my baby that's due in November. I'm mostly finished a purse for my mom's bday, and I plan to make a purse for my MIL for Christmas yet too. I've been obsessed with freaking yarn lately. ;D
Lucy-What do you have planned for all that yarn? I'm totally jealous of your space. I wish I had a little spot in my house to dedicate to crafts, but its just not possible at this point, boo. Are you on Ravelry?

I want to come and look through it all. I love wool & cotton yarns, and am forever buying them and mailing them to my sister. It works in my favour because often I receive things knitted from what I've sent. She's the knitter, I sew and make felt.
LHC: Do you have any fun beginner patterns to recoLmmend? I'm looking for something to keep me busy on my flight to Australia in a couple of weeks. I figure knitting could take up at least a few hours of that time.
I would start with a scarf or some dishcloths. Both are flat projects and small, so easy travel with and not a lot of money shelled out. On ravelry.com you can search for a project on skill level and there are tons of free patterns.

Thanks Daisy!
I've got a ton of yarn. I mean, I have about half of LHCs stash, but it's a lot for someone who doesn't really know how to knit. lol So I guess it's time to make an effort to learn.
There are really just two stitches to learn and casting on/off. You can make a lot with that basic knowledge. I like scarves, because you can use a bulky yarn and they knit up quick. Dishcloths are a fun way to try new stitch patterns, because they are small and 100% cotton yarn is cheap. Let me look through my ravelry bookmarks and I will see if I have any fun patterns...
Does anyone buy yarn online? Like from amazon. The only thing here is Walmart. The closest craft store is over an hour away. Might as well be 4 hours away. I'd be shopping with 2 crazy toddlers.
