From CNN: "Polls are closing in West Virginia’s presidential primaries, where presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump is projected to win, Bernie Sanders leads Hillary Clinton and a third of Democrats say in exit polls they'll back Trump in November."
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
What I can't get is why on earth anybody would think for a hot second that Trump is going to help the working class? Don't they know that he has done the exact opposite of that for his whole career? This does not compute for me.
This is West Virginia. People here blame Obama and Hillary and the EPA for destroying coal jobs and are sure once they are gone (out of office, theroretically) the coal companies will come back happier than ever. Meanwhile, in other fairy tale news, Cinderella lost a shoe. COal is never coming back, it was already on its way out long before 2008, and much like rate hikes for health insurance, President Obama seemed like a perfect scapegoat.
This place is fucked up. Everyone is a democrat, but hold none of the ideals usually aligned with democratsthe democratic party. It's a weird but beautiful place (I wanted to end on a good note so I didnt completely trash the place I live)
West Virginia is a weird state, and is filled with racist Democrats. They had two long serving Democratic senators who delivered a shit ton of pork, which I think must have just kept people from realizing that the Democratic Party is not filled with Dixiecrats anymore. I recall reading once that in 2008, the state had the highest percentage of registered Democrats of any state but still went for McCain.
