What are you reading this week?
QOTW: If you're close to finishing your book, will you take two with you if you're going out something you need to wait? If you're an e-book reader, will you make sure you have the next book on your device before you leave?
LOL ... So, I'm almost done with The Obsession (Nora Roberts).
And this leads into the QOTW because I brought my Kindle downstairs with me this morning (it has dozens of books on it currently), but I also brought two paper books with me because I'm just not sure what I'll decide to read when I'm done with the Roberts book.
I just finished a Chet and Bernie mystery, A Fistful of Collars. It was ok, not the best so far. Started the next Thursday Next in my re-read of the series, First Among Sequels. I have a bunch of new-to-me books I would like to start soon, but I was too exhausted yesterday for anything new.
QOTW: I always have books in reserve. But on a regular day, like a work day (when I never have time to read anyway but always take a book because you never know) I only carry one book.
I'm listening to The Raven King and All the Light We Cannot See (which I set aside to listen to TRK), reading The Rules of Civility by Amor Towles for book club, and sadly slogging my way through Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas.
QOTW: I almost always have more than one book going at any given time. But, I also always have a few backups on my kindle if I'm in need of something to read. My kindle goes everywhere with me.
I'm listening to a really smutty romance that I won't mention the name of lol. It's cheesy, but the sex is hot.
I'm still working on Red Rising. Goodreads says it's only 382 pages, but it feels like at least 1000. I'm only a third done.
QOTW: I almost always have a back up book available. I often carry a hardback and my kindle in my purse. Not having a book with me (and a backup) is like leaving your phone at home. It's like an extension of me is missing.
Finishing up a library ebook before it expires: Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
QOTW: I'm on vacation now so yup, I filled my phone up with ebooks, especially for all the flights.
How are you liking it? I hear really good reviews, but I started it years ago and only got about 3% in before I put it down. I never end up getting back to it.
I just finished A Court of Mist and Fury. I loved it. It was much better than book 1. Didn't quite go in the direction I was expecting but made it better. Also, lots of hot sex. I was not expecting that either, lol. No way would I classify it as YA though.
I only take my Kindle with me on vacations. I can only read at home in the quiet. (So after bedtime because LOL at quiet with a 5 year old around).

Red Rising took an eternity for me to finish. But, I'm glad I did.

I really, really did not like Red Rising. The second one was even worse. I'm not bothering with the third.

I'm still listening to HP5. I only have 3 more disks though so I'm almost done. I'm next in line for Furiously Happy so I'm excited to start that.
I'm also still reading Pride and Prejudice. I didn't have much time to dedicate to reading this week but hopefully this weekend I'll be able to. I need to start Me Before You for a book club so maybe I'll download that today.
QOTW - I definitely make sure to have enough reading material wherever I go.

I started my re-read of The Raven Boys. I will be rereading The Dream Thieves after that. Then, finally, I will read Blue Lily, Lily Blue and The Raven King.
QOTW: I would always bring a back-up or have several books ready to go on my iPad.

This took me a while to finish too. I liked it, but doubt that I will read the rest of the series.

I just finished Light Between Oceans and it was so good, heartbreaking, but good. Started reading Opening Belle by Maureen Sherry for a bookclub at the end of the month. Not sure yet how I'm going to like it, but I can already see where it'll lead to some great conversation/discussion since it's about a female managing director on wall street. While I've been fortunate to not be in any crazy situations, I have spent a lot of time in a male dominated industry.
QOTW: I always have a few books on my kindle/phone that are on my to-read list to refer to if I run out of my current book, plus I'm usually managing 2-3 books at a time as well. Not right now though which is weird. I'll be updating everything this weekend though since I'm traveling next week and have 6 hours of plane time to deal with!
I just finished Morning Star (the last in the Red Rising trilogy). I liked it.
I'm reading The Summer Before the War now and also have The Nest waiting for me. Hopefully I can get some extra reading done this weekend.
ETA: QoTW - Yes, if I'm almost done with a book and plan to be somewhere that I will be waiting/reading, I'll make sure I have another book ready to go.
I finished 12 Years a Slave yesterday. It was a great book.
I'm reading Human Remains by Elizabeth Haynes and listening to The Witches: Salem, 1692 by Stacy Schiff. I really liked Into the Darkest Corner by Haynes but Human Remains isn't quite as gripping. Not a bad read but it's slower for me. I just started The Witches so I haven't formed an opinion yet. It isn't dry but again, I'll have to wait to see how it goes.
QOTW: Yes, I always have book on my Kindle ready to go.

I'm next on the list for this from the library and really looking forward to it.

Oh that's out?? Yay!
I'm reading Deliver Her. It's a kindle first, which usually aren't great, but it's fine. One of my reading goals is to read what's already on my kindle.
QOTD: I always have three or four books on my kindle, just in case.
I'm about 1/3 of the way through The Cuckoo's Calling for my book club next week. I'm really enjoying it so far.
The Cider House Rules is still on pause.
QOTW: If I'm travelling I always load up my Kindle with at least twice as many books as I think I'll actually read, and during regular non-travel time I generally have my next book queued up and ready. But even if I don't, I have tons of free books, or things I'd be willing to re-read.
When I didn't have a kindle and I was close to the end of a book, I'd just start my next book at the doctor's office (or wherever) since I tend to read multiple books at a time anyway.

I'm starting Morning Star (Red Rising #3).
I almost always have several unread books on my Kindle (usually Amazon First selections, which I'm never that fired up read, but I have them just in case).
