OK, we all got through Friday the 13th (my favorite day TBH), how was your weekend?
Friday I bagged the town fundraiser as there was just too much else going on. I think I even went to bed early.
Saturday DH decided to go to his event in CT, but be back in time for DD's dance school fundraiser. It was so.much.fun. I registered a Boston milestone with my first visit to Dorchester, LOL. There were lots of families, lots of kids, and lots of dancing. They had a DJ who took requests, and S was so excited that he played all 4 of hers. She even wrote one down on a request card--I feel like I should have kept it for her baby book, it was so cute. We wanted to get her home early but she begged to stay, so we didn't leave until 10pm!
Sunday I let her sleep in while I did church, then DH left for a fighter practice in Cambridge. Our local MOMS club had an event at the YMCA, so S and I hit that up. We both did the ropes course--S went twice without an ounce of fear, I went once and was done. RockNVoll , I bet she'd be a natural at trapeze. Then we did some archery. The guy didn't know what to do with me, as apparently I'm ambidextrous when it comes to archery. S has decided it's her favorite sport, and she wants to go to an archery range. DH is all over this, as he used to shoot with his dad. He even has his old bow. We ordered Chinese for dinner and everyone turned in early.
S just got invites to 3 birthday parties in the next month. Oy!
Pix of S doing her thing. She climbed all the way up to where that cross-post is, then hopped off and swung down. Twice

S is awesome! My parents came Thursday night. Daves sister came up from NY and hung with us most of the day. We had inspection on Saturday. Then a cookout at daves other sisters place. And ever second in between we packed. Today the stager came out and told us what to keep and what to store.
I'm sorry I didn't get around to actually responding to this yesterday! How the heck did S get from the top of the ladder up to that actual bar? It looks like there's still a gap of at least a couple of feet. I'm so impressed by her!
There are little foot and hand holds every foot or so, you can't see them in the picture. They're not trivial, but she attacked them like they were nothing. I was so proud. The guy on the ground said he can usually feel people trembling when they're nervous, and he didn't feel a thing.
There's a rock climbing gym in Norwood, we may have to check it out. She can't do archery at a range until she's 8
I spent my weekend at the bachelorette party. It was ok. The bride basically planned everything herself and honestly, I think I could've given some better recommendations on places to eat, but she micromanaged the whole thing and her sister let her, so whatever. By Sunday morning I was ready to go home and hang with DS. Quite frankly, I would have had a better night sleep at home. Lol.
And not to be a downer, but we found out yesterday that our very dear friend from college's brother committed suicide over the weekend. I can't stop thinking about it. I think now that I'm a parent it's changing my perspective/reaction to these types of events because I just can't imagine what his parents are going through right now.

drloretta , my husband grew up doing archery - the whole family was involved, and they traveled alllllll over the place. Every vacation was actually an archery shoot. You might want to be wary of adding yet another travel heavy hobby to your family, unless it's something your husband and daughter want to travel to together while you get alone time.
And cgpm, that's so tough. I'm so sorry. I've noticed a change in my perspective since having my son as well, so I feel you. My husband's friend from college passed away suddenly a few weeks ago, in this really terrible series of events, and he left behind a wife and three kids under six. I never even met the guy, but I could not stop thinking about his wife and those poor, poor babies who won't ever get to know him. I just hugged my baby and cried when I heard. (And now I've not only been a downer but made it about me as well. Sorry.) Big hugs to you and your friend.

He's actually approaching it as something she can do within his hobby group, which would be perfect;
