I'm sorry. Chemo is such a rough thing to endure. I hope she finds comfort. Have they tried something to increase her appetite? Big hugs all around. Cancer is an asshole.
ETA: Just saw above posts. Def try the medical marijuana or marinol (pill form).

My dad loved ice cream bars. There are some fruit ones that he absolutely adored that you can pick up at Costco now - mango, coconut and pineapple. The orange creamsicle is also soothing. We made sure that he also had plenty of yogurt available as well.
I like Glucerna better than Boost flavorwise. The chocolate is richer and better tasting than the vanilla, imo. I have trouble swallowing the vanilla without wincing or trying to scrape the taste off my tongue, and I *like* vanilla.

She loves Dairy Queen ice cream but she gave it up because of the medication she's on, cold hurts the inside of her mouth. (wilted)

What about treats but let it warm a little so it's not so cold? Not melted but softened for her. Or fruit-blended drinks, yogurts, smashed fruits and squashes (basically, I hate to say it, but baby-food or a similar consistency). A hamburger was also a special treat for my dad while he was still able to chew, believe it or not.

One of frustrating things is my stepdad isn't doing much to help. To be fair, my mom is a product of her generation and did everything around the house and has enabled his behavior for over 36 years. He's a smart man when it comes to numbers and such, but when it comes to taking action...well, now he needs to man up..."in sickness and health..." and all that.
