It's not every day but it's happening often. Max started sliding to an earlier wake up time in the fall, from 7 to 6.... And lately when Elliot's been waking for a feeding Btwn 430-5, it wakes up Max. H tries to get him back to sleep - sometimes it works and sometimes not. Today he was up at 5:15 or so oh man.
Putting him to bed earlier isn't really an option. He's still napping fwiw (1 hr at preschool) but he won't really go to bed earlier than 8. Sometimes 7:30 on weekends when he wont nap.
This is just not enough sleep for him. 7 wasn't bad... But then he wouldn't go to bed at night til 9... Which occasionally still happens. Sleep = much better behavior for him so I'm worried he's going to be having some issues. We have a noise machine in Elliot's room but Max never slept with one so he doesn't have one. Their rooms are next to each other and we are in the master next to Max's room which has a bathroom in it and a sliding glass door so i don't want to switch rooms. Our house has fairly thin walls and is one story.
I agree with another sound machine for Max's room, or if you have a fan you could try putting that in his room to see if it helps.
One other thing that might not apply to you...my DH sucks as a nighttime parent. He looks for the laziest solution possible if he thinks it will afford him a few seconds more sleep, even though it usually makes things more difficult for all of us both long and short-term (like give the kid a toy rather than put them back to bed). I had to basically tell him to "suck it up buttercup" and make him deal with G's overnight/early morning wake-ups once X was here. Unfortunately it meant that G's sleep temporarily suffered, but I had to survive somehow. He eventually came up with solutions that worked once it was clear I wouldn't bail him out. Hopefully this isn't your issue, but just in case.

I'd say another white noise, and also an okay to wake clock. We have one for Mel for when she started to wake at all hours of the night wanting to come to our bed. We told her that until the clock is green, that she should be in her bed. It worked really well since she just genuinely thought it was time to get out of bed any time she woke.
White noise and ok to wake clock were our fallbacks and still are. We have one in B's room and one in E's room. i had to bribe B mightily for a while - if you can stay in your room until the light turns green, 5 mornings in a row, we'll go get a special treat.
Can you move the baby to your room until he's sleeping later? I don't plan on putting the baby in his room until he is reliably sttn because I don't want to deal with the shit show of L being woken up too lol.
It'll still wake him up. Our room is next to Max's. Smallish house with a layout that isn't the best for having a baby...
Those of you who had noise machines for the older kids... which ones do you have/recommend? Hilariously, I was talking to Max about it and he demanded one with music. He saw one in the room of his friends' 2 year old twins with fish and loved it... haha. I think it was just a little music/lullabye though. He's confused

We use an old iPhone on a speaker dock and play a noise app.

We have an old iPod that is cracked but still plays music on a dock. We used a white noise app when she was younger. Now, we switched to quiet music. It doesn't do as well at keeping noise out (we needed that when we lived in NY on a loud street, not so much here), but as a signal for bed and something soothing she can focus on.
We use a sleep album by Friðrik Karlsson. Very pretty music.
