How's it going? What's new? What's random?
An AW: I've lost almost 30 pounds now since I finally found a doctor who believed that my gain wasn't behavioral. Hooray! Also, I ripped the hole out of my calendar page for May, so I've been looking at April for almost a month now. LOL, whoops. And finally, I've been shredding paper, trying to get down to a reasonable amount of incoming paper and control the amount that seems to be piling up everywhere. I filled an entire kitchen-can size trash bag this morning, JUST WITH SHREDDED PAPER. And I still have at least 2x that amount still to shred. Can you say paper hoarder?

I'm with you on the paper - I have piles that I'm about to shred - I'll keep you posted on how much I get to
We are having our carpets replaced in bedrooms today. There were definitely some questionable stains when we moved it here. I can't wait to get everything in here done. So far I've been really happy with our paint choices!

chasbride07 what colors are you going with? I'm looking for inspiration for what to do in our new house, which was decorated in entirely in various shades of blue by previous owners.
mrs.jacinthe , congrats on the weight loss! WOO HOO!
We're going camping this weekend with my BFF and her family. Our kids are the exact same ages and we always have a blast. This is our 4th year in a row-- it's a tradition now, right? I have a ton of stuff to pack and groceries to buy to get ready. And I bought a new swimming suit. Now that we're on the lake and spending more time outside, I'm finding myself constantly trying to slather SPF in places I can't reach, so I got the long sleeved rash guard type shirt with some board shorts.

Nurse Cramer had stopped speaking to Nurse Duckett, her best friend, because of her liaison with Yossarian, but still went everywhere with Nurse Duckett since Nurse Duckett was her best friend....Nurse Cramer was prepared to begin talking to Nurse Duckett again if she repented and apologized.

Today is work's summer party. It's Prince themed. People are walking around in pegged, acid-washed jeans and all sorts of purple. The lobby music is all 80s (so far I've heard "It's Raining Men" and "We Built This City").
I have off tomorrow! Whee! Of course it will be filled with errands (I need new running shoes and jeans) yardwork (mowing lawn, weeding the veggie beds) and yard sale prep. But that's ok! I won't be in the office and that's what matters.

I took my sleep meds early last night and then got a severe weather alert. Like hey, thanks for being literally 1 minute too late for me to be conscious if there's a tornado here. (There wasn't one nearby last night but the one that touched down about an hour or so from here was on the ground for 90 minutes.)
Congrats on the weight loss and in finding the right doctor. That is no easy task. I have found so many doctors to be dismissive and I rarely go to the doctor.
Our new house has a slider to the back porch. We keep procrastinating buying window treatment for it. So a month later we still have very ugly temporary covering ...blue painter's tape included (shame, I know). DH wants a traverse rod but I don't want it to look like a hotel. We did get plantation shutters installed in the main area windows. Those look nice.

I finally called the outside IT people about setting up my computer and I have already had to leave my post as receptionist to find the adapter he needed. That was right by him.
I just found out we have carpenter bee's digging in our brand new deck. I'm so pissed. It's noones fault but mother nature but damnit. Exterminator is coming out on Tuesday so I'm hoping they don't destroy it before hand. I took a mirror to where I saw the saw dust pile and it's a huge looking hole.
I have NO motivation to do anything. I need to go to home depot for paint rollers and yard trash bags but it just seems like so much work to get in the damn car and go. I never thought I'd get this spoiled but working from home has me really lazy about going out for things.
That's awesome MrsJ! What does this doc say? What are you doing? Tell me more! We are working on sprucing up our deck this weekend. I am so mad the painters we hired to stain did such a shitty job and it looks awful 2 years later. But we are planning on tearing down to put in a screened in porch in the next year or so, so I hate to dump more money into it. We got a new outdoor rug and I need to add some new planters. That should help! I am annoyed my husband doesn't want to put up the curtains again, I LOVED them and felt like it made a huge difference.

Remember I was gaining weight and so frustrated because nothing I did was working and my labs were pretty normal? And my PCP was like, "well, if you would learn to eat right ..." and then my brain exploded.
Well, I self referred to an endo for evaluation. He ran more tests and determined I have an unusual presentation of a condition called insulin resistance, which is different from diabetes in that my body makes enough insulin but doesn't use it properly. So I'm on a relatively low-carb diet and taking wellbutrin. It's working so well, even the endo is impressed.
We ordered composite decking today. Yikes it is expensive! We got free shipping on it, but we probably won't have it delivered until after the office gets built....which at this rate it could be a long wait. We thought they had gotten the permits for the office, but the county has been asking the contractor for a ridiculous amount of information before they will even look at the application. The latest questions were about water and septic, even though it won't be connected to either, and they were already told that it was nowhere near any water/power/anything. The septic/drainfield are in the front yard and the office will be in the back off the courtyard on the opposite side of the property. There currently is no water or electricity on that part of the property, since it was just woods and brush outside the courtyard before we bought the house.

We finally meet with our builder tomorrow night to do a walk through of my MIL's house. It's going to start soon!!! I'll take a video of the house before...so we can look at before and after.

Congrats on the weight loss AND the clutter progress! Incoming mail is a huge problem for me too.
Tornado warning with one down on the ground 30 minutes away. Seriously over spring, my basement is wet already and we just got TONS of rain.
Yikes! Stay safe!
They sent us home just in time for round 2 to hit as I drove down the river parading as a highway and we wait for round 3 now. Spring in Kansas is fun lol.

Sorry about the deck, but try to be calm. Carpenter bees ARE important pollinators, and they won't destroy your deck. It would take them many, many years. I have carpenter bees too; and I decided to leave them alone. I see that my deck is wearing out far, far faster on it's own than because of anything they're doing. I'll have to replace it in a few more years, just because of TIME and WEATHER.
I'd rather have the bees than not have them, I hope you don't do anything hasty.
Have some wine, dear. (((hug))). I'd come help you with the yardwork if I could!

I just had my forehead shot full of more Botox than I've evet had in a single treatment. My spouse is not gonna like seeing that charge on the statement, but I'm tired of "resting bitchface".
