Friday--don't remember. Lazy evening and early to bed, I think. I seem to recall being exhausted.
Saturday--cooked all day in preparation for BF's son's goodbye party! Threw a great party in the evening, complete with bonfire and booze. BF's son smoked some AWESOME ribs, and BF made burgers. I did drinks and dessert.
Sunday--dropped BF's son off at the airport, came home to nap for a bit, and had a lazy day.
Monday--lots of cooking (made lunches/dinners for the week), did some homework for my Russian class, had a steak dinner and champagne to celebrate BF being approved to become an American citizen!!!
Friday - went out for dinner with friends and another friend paid since he knows I can't afford it (I told him I wouldn't go, and he said to come anyway...). Though I don't think I will go for awhile because some other friends in the group have pretty much ejected me from the close knit group we used to have and when I hear them talking about the stuff I am not invited to, it is triggering my depression. So until I get it under control, I am avoiding that situation. Saturday - Went to the renfaire with my brother. Ended up getting heat exhaustion, but I had a great time. Sunday - Got up early to go watch my other brother run the Cheetah Run 5k at the zoo. And then we wandered around the zoo afterwards. Got DS that afternoon. Monday - stayed home with DS from the renfaire because of the storms and went to my parents house instead

UDScooby, that is awesome about your BF!!
My weekend was awesome!
Friday night I went shooting with M and then out to dinner. I ended up getting a little drunk lol.
Saturday was spent nursing my hangover then went to the public market. Cleaned my house up and relaxed.
Sunday I went shopping at the outlet mall with my sister and mom. Spent WAAAAYYYY too much money but got lots of cute stuff.
Monday I went to see the last baseball game of the season with my brother and 2 nephews. It was SO hot at the game that after I went out on M's boat with some other friends and swam in the lake.

My ex was Russian so I took classes and did Rosetta Stone.. Rosestta Stone was much easier for me to learn from. I thought it was pretty hard at first but then it became easier but I was never very good at Russian.
I need the accountability of a class...I just know that I would never use Rosetta Stone on my own. Having homework and tests and stuff helps me. It is really tough so far. Especially since the letters look one way typed, another way when Italicized, and completely different when written in cursive, so you have to learn THREE (!!!) alphabets for one language! Eeek!

We went camping with our neighbors and my BFF and her family. It was a blast! We had fun just sitting around the campsite watching the kids play, taking them to the pool/splash park, and then of course adult campfires after the kids went to bed. We were all exhausted by the time we got home yesterday though. My poor dog was so beat, that she was sawing logs for a good 3 hours, passed out in her corner of the living room.
Friday - kid-free quiet night at home Saturday - 2 mile race and beat my DS! Then tubing with friends and enjoyed an amazing campfire cookout. Jacked up my foot at some point. Sunday - church, hung out at home with a friend, rest stupid foot. Monday - iced and elevated stupid foot, got all the backpacks ready for the first day of school!
I'm off today and doing more of the same. Taking DS to school this afternoon to meet the teachers and drop off his supplies.

I could never learn anything from Rosetta Stone. I tried French and I would always put it off until I forgot about it

How did you like shooting?
Um...I actually hated it lol. He taught me about the safety and how to load it. I shot 3 times and I was all "yeah, I am done". He was dying laughing. He convinced me to shoot 2 more rounds so he could take pictures for me.

Lol--that's too funny! I'm not one to go "hey, let's go shooting!" but if BF has the guns out, I'll fire off a few rounds. Mainly because my competitive side wants to be able to out-shoot him and everybody else.

Interesting! I loved it.. I want to learn Italian. I thought it was much more fun and I loved completing the lessons and learning with the pictures. I still remember lots of Russian words from it and basically nothing from the class I took
Russian is hard because of the letters and sounds.
Why are you learning Russian scooby?
I love Italian--I taught myself a little before studying abroad in Italy during college. I can still read a menu and ask where the bathroom is, but that's about it! Although, I went to my sister's roommate's 400-level Italian lit class a year or so ago and actually understood quite a bit of what they were talking about, so I was pretty proud of myself for that!
I have a friend who is taking the class, and I've always liked learning languages, so when she signed up and started talking about it, I figured that I would try it, too. I speak Spanish pretty well, a bit of Italian (I'm better at reading it than speaking/listening), and a bit of American Sign Language, so this is something completely different for me!

Friday - went out with the family for my dad's birthday Saturday - did all my errands so that I wouldn't have to do them Sunday/Monday. Hung out with a guy that I had been seeing for the last couple weeks to break things off. Sunday - hung out with a girlfriend and went to the mall to spend her gift certificates. Had a first date with 'M'. It went really well. Monday - hung out with a girlfriend by the pool then went for sushi

It is so different, isn't it? Even the sounds are totally different and not part of our language. I like learning languages also... My Russian teacher said I could have been a linguist because I picked up Russian so easily. I lived in Germany when I was younger so I still have some of that and I learned Spanish in high school.
I think I am going to Peru next spring so I am going to do the Spanish Rosetta Stone!!
I had a linguistics minor in college. I always told people that I was going to be a translator for the UN when I was in high school. Didn't happen, and I went into an entirely different field (microbiology), but that's ok!
Have fun in Peru! I have a girlfriend who went for three weeks last October, and she had a blast! I'm sure you'll love it!

I has a great Labor Day weekend. Went to a lake for the weekend with my family. Met a super Hot guy from Nashville, learned to paddle board, went sailing, laughed a lot, had a great time. Then I came home to annoying messages from stbx and got major anxiety.
Drunken mess-I went to San Diego with some girlfriends. Good news is I didnt have a mental breakdown but did feel a little frumpy that all my friends met guys but me
I forgot how much I missed San Diego. The bad news is that my hangover was so bad yesterday I think I ate about 5000 calories in the form of In and Out, pizza and ice cream.....Time to hit the gym tonight.

Weekend was busy busy. I took Friday off from work to hang out with my friend visiting from LA. We went to lunch and day drinks during the day, then dinner and...night drinks later on. Stayed at T's that night so we could wake up early on Sat. and drive to the Cape. Got there with zero traffic (a miracle!) and had a great weekend with family friends just eating, drinking, fishing, beaching. Gorgeous weather and a perfect ending to the summer. Yesterday we got up and had the car packed and on the road by 8:00, then stopped and visited his mom on the way home and then my sister since both stops were along the way. Had lunch on the water by his house and then went to my mom's to pick up my cat. We both were zonked out by 9pm last night!

How was the date with the new guy? Are you liking him more then last week?
My weekend was boring. I just did some cleaning, started a new book and sat by the pool part of the weekend when it wasn't raining.

It was really nice. We had a great time on Friday night and then last night too. I also bumped into him on Saturday! (we live in a really small town!!) I'm taking it super slow this time and trying to get to know him. I learned so much from my last "relationship". We didn't even kiss until last night (3rd date!!) He seems to really like me. It's weird though, such as completely unexpected time. I mean I literally met him 9 hours after I broke it off with XBF and I planned to be single for a long time. It's definitely beyond your control when you are going to meet someone.
Yay! I'm so happy to hear you had a good time with him! That is crazy about the timing but you're right, you just never know when you'll meet someone, even when you don't think it's the perfect time. I'm also really happy he's so different from your ex! Lol

I don't think I have ever experienced this... when I decide to be single I am single until I decide to let men in again. I am not interested in meeting anyone and I don't accept dates from anyone. I was like this at times in college and grad school when I was really busy, when I first started working, and after my divorce. I don't think it's beyond my control... I control my life.
I'm not that rigid in my thinking, I prefer to "go with the flow". Life is more interesting and exciting for me that way. Plus trying to control things is hard work! You know the old saying... "you make plans and God laughs"

Uhhhh, don't you think it's a bit of a bold statement to say you control your life? Life throws curve balls and sometimes, as much as you'd like, you have absolutely no control over things.
I have only been like this at times when my life was really demanding with school or work or I knew I was moving to a different country or state in the near future. I just focused on the things that I really needed to get done.
After my divorce I spent a lot of time with my friends mom's that had been single moms with little kids. [b]The ones with the most successful remarriages took dating off the table for years. They just focused on their kids. One even wore a fake wedding ring to make sure men didn't approach her. They eventually got to a place where they were ready to date again and have since met amazing people.
So I dont think it's overly controlling.. it just allows me the time to focus on what is most important to me. Actually the one time I did just go with the flow and not focus on what I needed to do was when I met my ex.. and didn't pass my CPA exam because I kept hanging out with him
Absolutely exhausting! I moved this weekend and took off yesterday as well and still have soooooooo much unpacking to do. I am always amazed by just how much crap I have in my kitchen and bedroom. The LR and DR are always easy, but man, I'm like a kitchen items horder and my secret is only safe due to the plethora of cabinets that I have to hide it all. Oy.
