DS1 (5) is super into the election. A few recent examples:
1. My mom and MIL took him to lunch where he saw a girl wearing a Hillary sticker. She had gone to see Hillary at a rally in New Jersey earlier that day. He brings this story up about once every two days with total awe in his voice. I am so taking him to see her this summer.
3. I guess I donated to her during one of the times they offer you a sticker if you send $5. Thought it was my woman card (has anyone received theirs yet?) but no. Told DS1 he could have it and he stuck it on his backpack. Today, as we were walking into school, he said how he just had to show his teacher his Hillary sticker to his teacher.
4. Whenever we talk about the election he asks "Is Hillary president yet?" When I tell him Obama is still the president, he boos and I have to tell him we love President Obama too. He also thinks Hill is Obama's grandma so...
That is so adorable! SST is really into Hillary right now too. She also said this morning that she doesn't want Bernie Sanders to be president because he's "kind of creepy."
Can I birch and moan about something stupid for a moment? A frenemy* couple of ours named their baby boy the boy name we had picked out. I know I'm being stupid (we're having a girl!) but they totally don't deserve to use such an awesome name. Dad is a grown man who has literally thrown a tantrum over spoilers in a show that ended five years prior and mom is a snarky bitch who thinks she's smarter than everyone in the room, regardless of topic or crowd. I've been ignoring them more or less when we're at the same social events but this has made my dislike intensify.
*I only realized yesterday that this couple qualifies as frenemies. I've never had such a relationship before, or at least not since grade school. It's a long story, but suffice it to say, we have mutual friends and move in similar circles but they continually act like jerks over the above mentioned "spoilers" incident - spoilers did not happen and my H did not participate at all but somehow he was blamed in retrospect.
Eta: my autocorrect hates me, maybe I'll just "elm and complain" instead. lol

I tripped and fell hard on concrete about an hour ago, landing on my hands and knees. Had to basically shake it off and get DS from school (opted to drive vs bike though).
Now I'm back and hurt alllll over. Kids are watching tv and I'm icing.
This is the third moderate injury I've sustained in as many weeks. Am turning into quite the clutz.
DD (4.5) was going through my jewelry box this morning and pulled out one of my Hillary logo pins. She recognized it right away and asked me why I want Hillary Clinton to be President. Then she asked if I want to be President and I said no. She said, "But you're running for President."
I'm still trying to teach her that when I go for a run, I'm not "running for President"!!

AWWW - my 9 year old is super into it the election too! And is totally confused because her parents are on opposite sides and think the other one's head is screwed on wrong.
I am still tired from taking my girl scouts camping at the Houston Zoo overnight on Saturday. It was our first sleeping bag camping experience (have been in a cabin before) but we were in a/c. They are going to be miserable heathens if we ever camp outside.
But it was a cute experience! No fire, so no s'mores. But all else was fun.
I love kids being into the election! It's so cute. Mine are really into it, too, and love Hillary. I gave Scarlett the Hillary sticker I got for donating (I think? I didn't order it, it just showed up).
Today was our first official pool day of the summer... Jackson has been out since May 19th, but with the weather, Scarlett having school and DANCE RECITAL last week, this is the first time we've made it. They had a blast, and I found out Jackson's best friend from school does swim team at our pool. They aren't members because they have their own pool, but he's going to stay after practice some days to play with Jackson - YES.
Speaking of dance recital, I survived, and so did Scarlett's makeup. It felt like a real personal victory that I ROCKED THE SHIT OUT OF DOING MAKEUP ON A FIVE YEAR OLD. Not that I am biased but I thought her makeup looked the best and lasted so well. I told my H I crushed it. And he was like, "glad the millions of dollars you spend on makeup finally paid off for you" since I was so excited about it, lol.
Here's a pic that shows really well how it looked. I wanted to define her features and have her lipstick last so that the stage lights didn't wash her out, but didn't want it to be too heavy and still look natural. A lot of dance recital pics I see have really heavy eyeliner or it just doesn't look right, so I was really happy that my hard work paid off (lol).

Spoilers have a time limit. 5 years exceeds that. Hell, the time it takes to hit DVD exceeds that.

Right? Ridiculous behavior for an adult. Honestly I'm sure things only got blown out of proportion in his mind because he tried to storm away in a huff - but tripped and fell flat on his face instead. He probably would have forgotten all about it otherwise, but he is not the kind of guy who can laugh off something like that. So instead it's blame everyone else - in this case my H. Who wasn't really a part of the conversation anyway, just there. Stupid. Which is why they don't deserve to use that name.

I love that mine aren't the only kids interested in the election. Julia talks about classmates parents and who is voting for Trump and then will whisper in a horrified tone that theybmust watch Fox News. I may be rubbing off on her lol!
This weekend we had a new milestone. My niece (10.5) and Julia (almost 9) walked from SILs house to their neighborhood pool alone and met us. It's little, but it was the first time Julia walked a decent distance without an adult since we live off a main road. It was my niece's first time too. I'll admit to rolling my eyes that SIL and BIL made her bring a cell phone since it wasn't a long walk.
My almost eight year old isn't going to survive this year without duct tape making it to her mouth. Not really but holy mother of god. THE MOUTH ON THAT CHILD.
BBT likes to sing this song to me and H when we're "being romantic" except she can't spell it so she just says random letters "Mommy and Daddy sitting in a tree, K-B-S-P-R-M-O".

Like sassy or cursing? I need examples
Oh, no cursing. She is sassy. She will not stop talking back to me and also likes to roll her eyes at me. The worst part is that she is a total angel for my husband, which makes me want to scream.

Ugh this sounds like my 7 year old. I am so tired of hearing it.
I finally got DD to watch Teen Titans, Go over the weekend, and she loved it. We watched that and Powerpuff Girls and the hour-long special about the DC universe in high school.

BoyLiu LOVES DC Superhero girls. That kid will hand me my phone and say "how about superhero girls?"
LilShirley is really into PJ Masks lately, but she can't pronounce "masks" and so says "max". She is aware of her errors and insists she LIKES calling it PJ Max.
Oh, I thought it was PJ Mast. I've never seen it but DD watched it at my parents' and that's what she calls it. I assumed it had something to do with ships lol.
I had to cut SST off from Teen Titans because she was getting way too sarcastic. Nope, you got your whole preteen and teen years for that. Not starting it now.
