Friday I picked S up early from school and drove to NY (near Albany) where DH had an event. He was on site most of the evening, so...yeah. Saturday we met him at the site where he was fighting. S got to see some fighters, wanted to try archery (but got super shy when we wandered over) and generally complained about the heat, no surprise there. We headed back to our hotel and she asked to go exploring. We got on the elevator with 7 other people and got stuck for 45 minutes. The highlight was being put on hold when we called the emergency line using the elevator button. Sunday DH headed over to fence in the morning, while I packed S up so we could go to church and head home. She decided to play with the hinged door lock as I was opening the door, and smashed 2 of her fingers. Lots of screaming and crying ensued. Some ice and Band Aids seemed to help. Then I told my elevator sob story to the front desk people, who gave us a night for free. We had lunch at Friendly's, and NEVER AGAIN. We waited 30 minutes from the time we ordered until our food arrived. They really, really, should just stick to ice cream. We literally drove through a storm sitting on top of one of the passes near Lenox, complete with lightning, thunder, sheets of rain, and hail. The whole package.
Yesterday our biggest adventure was going to Lowes and Home Depot. I also hit up my local yarn store that was having a massive trunk show. My poor bank account...
drloretta - that is scary being stuck in an elevator for that long!! yikes. I was stuck in one for about 10 minutes at my office building a few years ago and that was more than enough for me.
I went up to Acadia National Park for the long weekend. Great weather on Saturday and Sunday. We went sea kayaking, biking on the carriage trails and hiking. Monday was rainy in the morning, so we packed up early and did a little outlet shopping in Freeport. Traffic heading back to NH was a bit of a nightmare, but we made it home eventually. I did decide what I want for a birthday present next month - a new sleeping pad for camping. LL Bean has a really nice 2.5" thick one that DH is going to get for me I may or may not have spent some time lying on the floor of the LL Bean store testing it out...

drloretta that is scary to be stuck in the elevator that long. I'm glad S's fingers are okay that sounds like it hurt.
Saturday I went for a long run but cut it short at 5 miles because of the heat and humidity. Saturday afternoon we did errands that we've been putting off for weeks and returned some stuff and bought some new stuff and it all evened out pretty much. Saturday night we went to a friend's house for a bbq.
Sunday I basically sat inside on the couch all day reading and such due to the rain.
Monday DH and I went on a 10 mile bike ride and then to a baseball game in the afternoon. The town we live in hosts the D2 College Baseball championship games and they are in town all week and town residents get to go for free. I tried to go out for a run but it started storming again.
All in all a good weekend but I needed another day to get stuff down around the house.
We had a really great weekend. For the first time we went to family events with DS and he was in such a good mood. No screaming or fussing. He let everyone hold him and it was nice to be able to eat with 2 hands. Lol.
I also got my bike out for the first ride of the season on Sunday. It was an ordeal because my back tire ended up being flat, so I had to take it to be fixed and it turned out I needed a whole new tire. It was way overdue, so I'm glad it's done, but damn, it took like over an hour to actually get out for my ride.
Oh, and DH found out yesterday that he is going to be offered a new job! It will still be teaching, but at a school in the town we live. He will literally have no commute and he will be much closer to DS's daycare in case of emergency. I'm really feeling like this is going to be such a positive thing for our family.

This is amazing, congrats to him! I hope he loves it.
Unrelated, but it still makes me smile when I think about how excited your H was when he saw our piano
Did I tell you we have one now? Our dental hygentist (lol) was getting rid of a baby grand. DH wanted to basically put it in the living room of our old condo. I shot that down, but after we moved into the new house last year, she still had it and was still looking for a home for it. So now it lives in our sun room. He plays to the baby. It's super cute.

Congrats cgpm! And glad everything worked out for you drloretta. Friday night is karate night. Saturday we bought a new washer and dryer. Sunday we went to a friend's house for grilling out. And Saturday we went to a different friends house for dinner.
