I don't know, I think we're all pretty fucking aware of gun violence, so I don't get the point. She def looks good though. I think that was the motive here.
It feels like how a few years ago how everyone posted their bra color on FB to promote breast cancer awareness. Narcissistic pleasure, yes. Bringing awareness to a deeply troubling but very visible problem? Not really.
But I don't really follow Amy's work, so if she's just parodying someone else, great.

See, I don't know. This is a major blind spot for us as a country.
Open carry laws are expanding.
You still hear people saying that they keep guns to stay safe, or suggesting women should. Many people don't realize owning a gun increases your risk of being shot. Carrying a gun increases the chance that you are killed if you are the victim of an assault.
We need more awareness. I don't think a nude selfie is going to do it. But gun violence awareness is her thing - not just a one time post. She and Chuck have been working on gun violence awareness since there was a mass shooting at the screening of Trainwreck.

Amy touched a bit on gun violence in her stand up I saw a couple weeks ago. I genuinely think she is doing this with good intentions. I don't equate it to the Facebook bra color deal as she is a public figure and whether you like her methods or not she is attempting to bring attention to the issue.

She looks amazing.
But bullshit she posted it to bring awareness to gun violence.
She posted it because she looks amazing. Own that shit. Don't try to be like, "I'm bringing awareness to poverty and those who cannot afford clothes by not wearing any."
I am so conflicted on her. I saw Trainwreck and loved it, loved her. I sometimes love her humor. I do love her message of body acceptance.
BUT (and it's a big but)
She annoys me because she seems SO fixated on what people are saying about her body. She tries to appear breezy, she tries to brush it off, she lashes out and laughs it off, but she harps and harps on this "size 6 to 8" thing. It's irrelevant to to root of her supposed message, yet she always brings it up. Then she posts things like this. What is this supposed to be? What does this have to do with anything? When called on it is she going to launch an attack? WHY are we talking about her body?
She's smart, she's sharp, she's funny. She's quick-witted. She's got great hair. She dresses well, and her body appears to be a chameleon of sizes and frankly I think she always looks good. But SHE keeps this body thing going. Just shut up, Amy! And if you don't like when people question your size on the red carpet then don't post stuff like this!
I don't know, I think we're all pretty fucking aware of gun violence,
That must be why it ended a while ago.
No, I think awareness is different than willingness to do anything about it. We're aware; it's impossible not to be. We just consistently choose to do nothing about it.
