I took dd1 to her dance recital practice tonight. Apparently I was the only mom in the whole place who missed the memo about not needing to come in costume. Oops. That basically sums up how well I'm rocking this working mom thing.
Anyway, so I'm waiting for dd's turn and all of the sudden they push this giant cross onto the middle of the stage. Next thing I know, she and all the other girls are dancing around the stage each holding giant signs that say FORGIVEN. You guys, my mouth was hanging open. Who in the hell thinks this is okay? Even in the bible belt? I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.
bunch, lololololol omg i would have died. that's awful/amazing and i would have sat on my ass laughing. do these kids even understand what they're dancing to?!
Ummm wtf bunch? Are these dance classes sponsored by a church?
I am waiting for DH to finish putting DS to bed (way later than he should be up) and then we will be packing for the beach. We leave tomorrow for a week! We are staying with a few other friends and the house has a pool and is a few blocks from the beach. It will be a fun week!

No! I should have known when the owner opened us with prayer and then explained that she opened this dance studio because 'God put it on her heart' that trouble was brewing.
How did I miss that this was coming?!?
let me be honest though, I really find it totally hilarious. I look forward to letting dd watch the video when she's 30.
Tomorrow morning C and I are going to The Crayola Experience at the Mall of America. I'm more excited than an adult should be about crayons.
I can't wait to do this!! I'm hoping for the initial excitement to die down but it looks so fun!
We're getting there right when it opens. My coworker went twice already and said that it's pretty huge so it doesn't seem super crowded. She said she thinks she had more fun than her 3.5 year old!
Congrats, starburst604! You didn't do any IF treatments, right?
Thank you! No, I saw my RE on Monday and we were getting ready to start the process with a Clomid challenge next cycle, followed by IVF. But she told me to call her if I got lucky this cycle and she'll do all the early testing for me. I have an increased risk of ectopic after my last pregnancy, so that makes me a little nervous.

OMG... So embarrassing. We put the kids to bed and both usually go right down. DH and I start to "get busy" and DS2 cries, so we stop and I go in, comfort and am out in less than two minutes, five minutes go by and we have to stop to comfort three times!
Not our finest moment.... The thrill of being a parent.

I'm putting the kids to bed a half hour late. They were playing together cutely, but I'm so ready to be done. This has felt like such a long week of solo parenting.
I walked over 5 miles today while wearing DD in the toddler tula. She's small for a 4yo (31 lbs), and I didn't really feel it at all while I was wearing her, but, omg, I'm so tired now. The fact that it was hot and we were in direct sun most of the time didn't help.

Oh, FUCK NO.
ETA: I for some reason thought this was at school. I don't know why. I'm slightly less irate. Only slightly though.
I had two glasses of wine and a Greek yogurt bar to drown my bedtime drama sorrows. I'm still under my calorie goal, so at least I won at something today.
