I won’t lie, I’m freaking out. This entire wedding from the ceremony to the big BBQ the next day is completely DIY. The only thing that’s being brought in from vendors are the rentals (tent, tables, chairs) and the hog roast. Everything else (side dishes, bar, desserts, décor, music, etc.) is 100% DIY. The logistics of getting everything where it needs to be it’s causing me to slowly lose my mind. I have so many lists and spreadsheets it’s out of control. I have so many family and friends who have said “If you need help, just tell us!” but the problem is I don’t know who to have do what. Thankfully I have an awesome FMIL and she’s delegated stuff to her family as we’ve talked about it in conversation (FFIL will direct parking/traffic at the BBQ, FBIL & his GF will be the “runners” to get odds and ends we need, like ice, etc.)
FF was so sweet yesterday. I was cursing at my glue gun while trying to make a DIY hula-hoop Christmas light chandelier for inside the tent (don’t laugh, I saw it on Pinterest and they’re really awesome!) and he asked if there was anything he could do to help me out. My Type A mind immediately went to how I didn’t want him tying twine bows on the napkin rolls or trying to help with the chandelier. So, I jokingly said “You know what would REALLY help me out babe? If you emptied the dishwasher and cleaned the bathroom floor”. I was totally kidding…but he simply said “You got it. Anything to ease your stress”. If that wasn’t enough, he did those chores without complaint (in fact, he was whistling lol) AND cleaned the litter box! He also offered to take DS with him on Sunday (they’re driving to pick up a tractor somewhere) so that I could have a few kid-free hours to get wedding things done (it’s normally XH’s weekend but he’s going to some concert so he couldn’t take DS this weekend…AND FF is working a 48 hr shift on Fri/Sat, so I won’t be able to get anything done then since I’ll have DS). Seriously, he is amazing.
Phew that got to be long. Overall, I’m pretty stressed…BUT, at the end of the day I know it’ll all come together and we’ll be married. That’s what’s important. I’m TOTALLY looking forward to 3 days of camping in northern MI as our “mini moon” after the wedding though. This girl needs some R&R!

Remember, as you already know, to take it all in....it goes by fast, and although you are DIY'ing, slow down and relish in what really is important.
Everything will fall into place and it'll be great. We can't wait to see photos and to hear all about it.
Can't believe it's so close-that's crazy! I remember when I first "met" you on the SP board and you had just separated from XH. It's fun to see how everyone's stories have come around and now you're getting a second chance at happiness! I also love the sign that B will be carrying-too adorable!!!!
