I keep seeing people say "It's not true! The real math is this!" and then they post something showing that Sanders is actually ahead? And then I get confused, because, what?

Math is hard for four year olds in the middle of tantrums. Today at the grocery store my son yelled that he wanted to buy ten-seven-two apples when I was only buying 6. So sad.
It is going to be these people who are picking a hill to die on that it is Bernie Sanders or NO ONE. That will cause Trunp to actually have a shot at winning this shit, and THAT is scary.

I think they have math that shows if he won every single vote left (before super delegates) he could maybe win. But I think it assumes she suddenly loses almost everything.
And whether they like it or not, super delegates are (and always have been) a thing. So they count. Even if it means the guy you like loses.
But I still think more people will vote for her over him.

At this point, the only line for winning for Bernie is getting the super delegates to vote against the popular vote and cross over to him. Any Berner arguing against super delegates needs to catch up with Bernie who is all in favor of super delegates now.

It seems a large number of them are. I see a lot of "who needs super delegates anyway, just cheater Hilary" and "super delegates shouldn't be allowed"
With a healthy dose of "it's so unfair just anyone isn't allowed to vote. You have to be registered. But you couldnt vote if you're not a democrat"
No shit. That part comes in the election. It's always been that way.

The way the Berners on my FB are phrasing things now makes me think that they will vote for Trump in November just out of spite because Hillary got the nomination. Then when Trump wins they will claim we should have just voted for Bernie. They are annoying.

That's lovely. Are they white men? Cause why not fuck over women, people of colour, non-Christians, etc, just to make a point? Fucking privileged assholes.

YUP. All my Bernie or bust Facebook friends are white dudes, and they don't want to hear about privilege, because it's the principle that matters. Douches.

I would say to them that purposely voting for someone who is a complete asshole does not give them a leg up on the principle stand...if Clinton lost due to people not voting for her and more people who actually wanted Trump (and I mean truly wanted him), then yes, you MIGHT have something to say - but vote for someone you don't believe in to try to harm others and because of sour grapes, well, then YOU ARE THE ASSHOLE.

I don't get this. Where were they every other election if they really think this is cheating? Why do they think just because they are finally interested in voting that the rules should support them instead of the way it's always been? You don't get complain about the process when it only benefits you.

10th grade/hanging out in college, generally oblivious to "old people."
I am super psyched but kind of worried people will be complacent and not come out and vote today, esp. in CA. I want an emphatic win for her today; a statement that clearly says, GO HOME OLD MAN.

Me too. I'm hoping that maybe the announcement will make her supporters get out the vote because they're excited, but mostly it has me concerned that they won't vote now. I desperately want her to win CA. She needs that emotional victory heading out of primary season.
Her campaign tweeted and emailed last night basically saying, "thanks, but it's not over..." I'm not sure I think her campaign was super pleased about them announcing this.

My only hope is that HRC supporters tend to be a little older and more well-versed in politics and know that we are voting for more than just the presidential nominee today. So they would have come out regardless for the down ballot stuff. I hope.

NOPE. I posted in the CEP thread last night that we were watching Rachel Maddow pretty much live as the announcement was released. Maddow had an HRC staffer on, who was basically, "Let's pretend this never happened! PLEASE still vote tomorrow!" I (jokingly?) questioned if Bernie et al. had a hand in the timing..?

This is my thought as well. I feel confident they get how important this is.
I'm biting my tongue today and letting people tantrum it out because apparently they don't remember that this is always how it works or even that Bernie himself threw his support behind Obama back in 2008 - 2 full days before Hillary conceded. link Presumed nominee was enough then when the race was closer and Hillary held the popular vote while Obama had the lead in pledged delegates. So what's so different now Bernie?
I hate how Bernie keeps saying he has a better shot at defeating Trump. IF that is true, it's only because he is encouraging his supporters to go Bernie or Bust, whereas Hillary's supporters will rally behind Bernie if it means defeating Trump.
And due to the fact that he has been treated with kid gloves so far. Once it enters the real election the R's will kill him with being a 'socialist' his wife's dirty dealings as college president, his son born out of wedlock, his 'rape' fantasy writing, and on and on. BS has gotten lucky but once the gloves come off his numbers will crash fast.

This, this, a million times this!!! This is perhaps the most delusional part of it all. Hillary has had her ass exposed for DECADES! Bernie has hardly been vetted, and he has some downright insane things in his past.

Really, the only way I'll respect Bernie is if he just concedes already and yells his supporters it was a good race, rally but now is the time to support Hillary for President to make sure the country progresses and doesn't slide back into the last century.
The "fight to the bitter end" is doing more harm than good.
And he needs to acknowledge she CAN do the job and she'll do it well. Despite her lack of a penis.
Eta: that should be tells his supporters. But a number of them seem dense enough that he probably will have to yell it.
