what level of profiency are you looking to have? Have you ever taken Spanish before? I would recommend taking a non-credit class at a community college or something if you have the time.

Actually, Rosetta Stone does really work. I got an older version to learn French & it wasn’t hard at all. It is time consuming, though. There are a lot of exercises, but I guess it’s nice in that you can do it at your own pace. At the same time, doing it at your own pace usually means that you get lax and don’t study as hard as you would if you took a course. Taking a class will be a slow learning process. Getting a tutor could definitely work faster. I also suggest trying to submerse yourself into the Spanish culture as much as possible. Watch Spanish TV and shows. You’d be surprised at how much you end up understanding.
