I own both these dresses. Both fit well and are comfy. similar knit jerseyish material. Not sure if they're both too casual though. It's for an afternoon full catholic ceremony with an evening ballroom reception. Not blacktie or anything, but not a casual wedding.
Which one would you wear, and any thoughts on how you'd style it?
Or should i just suck it up and buy a real cocktail maternity dress even though I'll never ever wear it again?
I wore something similar to the first one to an Episcopalian wedding and reception in a historic home last summer and felt fine about it. That's the kind of dress that it's easy to fancy up with nice jewelry and shoes, and most people are pretty nice about giving pregnant women a pass for not being as formally dressed as they usually would be for a special event.
Bonus question. shoes: assuming the first dress - purple suede round-toes (2.5ish inch heel), black suede pointy toes (3 inch) or 4 inch black patent platforms that will promplty be kicked off under the table at the reception. The first two are both really comfy. I can find pictures of all three I think if I dig...
The wedding is not until the first weekend of october, so it will be officially fall and suede shoe appropriate.
