AND BEFORE YOU EVEN COME IN HERE SOBBING, I'm breaking it down for you. The ends of her hair have been hanging around on her head since birth, through multiple summers. So when she gets it cut, she will look less blonde. She needs those ends cut off because in about 2 months it's going to start looking like yellow cotton candy up in that joint, but she will appear to be less blonde. Prepare yourself emotionally. Gird your loins. Cut the hair.
I still cry a bit when I look at pictures of Anna at age 3, when her hair was still baby blonde. She is still blonde, but it's crazy how much darker it has gotten.
And lol that you have 15 more years of control over this. You have maybe 2, then she will start voicing her own hair opinions and you will let her because her hair should not be your hill to die on.
Yes. Like how I had to surrender dressing my daughter in adorable clothes because she refuses to wear anything but "soft shorts" and t shirts she received for free.

Yeah, DD's hair tends toward scraggly because she hates the idea of having it "short" (i.e., anything above the shoulder). Sigh.

DD refuses to wear anything but dresses. It's OK in the summer, but dammit do I want to dress her in cute fall clothes when it gets below 75 here! (...which is like maybe 3 weeks out of the year)

and if you don't, she'll take the scissors to it herself and you will cry. Not that I speak by experience or anything.

That's exactly my Anna. She just now started wearing jean shorts. She refuses anything girly or fancy. And Sophia is obsessed with super girly dresses. I swear to god, we went out for brunch saturday with Anna in jeans shorts and an old faded tank top and Sophia in a full gown with a princess crown. "That's just our styles, mommy".

OMG, so many opinions on clothes. Only wanting to wear skirts and now it is shorts and nothing with ruffles, even shirts she previously loved.
SHE IS 6 1/2 YEARS OLD! IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS DIFFICULT YET. ::whimpers thinking about when she hits middle school::

My husband is like this with the boys hair, which is so lol worthy because they both get....crew cuts. They don't have hipster cuts or anything. Just straight up short on the sides with a bit left on top.
Like WTF are you obsessing over. He will walk back with the cutter at Cost Cutters and make sure they are using the right level of clipper. *-)
And he gets super pissy with me if I take the boys and they do it "wrong."

My H is obsessive like this over DS's hair. Except he does it himself.
Apparently he HAS TO FADE FROM A 2 TO A 4. HAS TO.
Dude, it's just buzzed. I can't tell the difference.

H would 100% cut their hair (he cuts his own) but they both scream such bloody murder each time he has done it that it is not worth it. For the hairdresser they are the most charming little gentlemen. They are such little jerks sometimes.

I never said that she would let me choose.
Just that I would be obsessing over it. LOL and
I'm so weird over my kid's hair. She was born with this full head of thick hair and she always looked like such a little person because of it. My Mom is adamant (based on some old Indian thing in her family) that kids don't cut their hair until they're three, so I did that. G wanted a pixie bob and I was like 'but you have the hair of my dreams!!' And I've been half assing the long Bob for two years. Anyway, last month she went above me to my SIL, and told her that she reeeaaaallllly wants this hair cut and she wishes I would stop forcing her to have braids and all the miserable brushing and blah blah. My SIL had to give me the tough love, and told me that this hair thing was about me. Duh, bitch I know. I still haven't cut it lol. I will though. I have to do more braids first, I'm getting so good at it.

I don't really have any feedback on the hair, but I love little kid backpacks. They're so tiny. What do they put in there? Teddy bears?
I dumped out DD's backpack to show you because I knew she'd been squirreling away some weird shit in there.
Highlights: Mr. Potato head glasses, koozie from a wedding we went to three years ago, a reindeer that sings Christmas songs while pooping candy, a potato.
It's not her school backpack at least. Just her weird kid backpack.

(Hi! This is all about me)
Your SIL needs to shut her damn mouth.
Kidding. But as you can see - I feel you!
HI!!
My SIL raised teenagers who actually listen to her, so naturally I usually do too. Not this time though, some things are just about me still. Good luck tonight. I really did love taking G for her first haircut. She was so tiny and proud in that chair. They made a big deal over her, they even had a special envelope for the first cut ;(
DD #2 has hair like that. I don't even bother taking her to get it cut...I do it myself at home, just enough off the bottom to clean it up and no, it's not scraggly when I'm done. DD #1's hair is so thick I can't do it myself so her I do take somewhere and I just ask them to please trim/clean it up. Quick and easy for both of them.
It looks staggly now, it needs cut or at least a few inches trimmed off. It will look so much better.
We are all saying basically this but your use of the hillbilly phrase "needs cut" kind of ruins your credibility. Just a helpful hint as to why you're the one getting quoted. Lol.
just checking, it's ok to use hillbilly as a derogatory name? You could be offending hillbillies...
