A child doesn't need a hairstyle. Please stop being crazy.
But won't it still just look... scraggly?
liverandonions I am obsessed with your DD's haircut. How much effort does that take?
Cut off 2-3 inches and the scraggly should go away and it should be cleaned up nicely. No need to go all the way to a long bob unless you or she just like that look (DD has a long bob because it looks cute on her and I like it)

Nope. Well, I don't think it would. For the most part I've only ever had B's hair trimmed, never styled. But her hair is curly so I don't know if that makes a difference. I think if you just have them clean up the ends it'll look perfectly fine.

I wish it was curly and I do think this makes a difference. C's is fine and straight. And scraggly. LOL.

You might just have to trim it more often then, but I still think it'll work
I really can't relate to you crazy people, you know who you are. I bring my girls to the kid salon and send them off with the hairdressers without even saying anything about a style. They have survived so far.
I mean this in the nicest possible way, you're over thinking it! DD has similar hair, and getting an inch or so off the ends every few months was plenty, no need for a particular style. I think her last haircut was when we started doing some long layers since she's letting it get really long and it was starting to look heavy on the ends.
I get it. I had a hard time with the first haircut for both kids. Mine had these adorable curls but they were so thin they'd tangle easy so I knew I had to do it.
We just trimmed it up and left the bangs alone. The worst part? The curls never came back.
DD has long blonde hair. I take her to super cuts every 3 months ago. Clean up and trim. Cheap and no big deal. I ask DD all the time if she wants it shorter and she loves it long. So it stays that way.
AND BEFORE YOU EVEN COME IN HERE SOBBING, I'm breaking it down for you. The ends of her hair have been hanging around on her head since birth, through multiple summers. So when she gets it cut, she will look less blonde. She needs those ends cut off because in about 2 months it's going to start looking like yellow cotton candy up in that joint, but she will appear to be less blonde. Prepare yourself emotionally. Gird your loins. Cut the hair.

And lol that you have 15 more years of control over this. You have maybe 2, then she will start voicing her own hair opinions and you will let her because her hair should not be your hill to die on.
