Mom is still with us. She's in hospice and hasn't regained consciousness since Friday morning. It's a matter of time, but for now she's hanging in there.
Her siblings, my cousins and niece have coming in on the regular--they're such wonderful people. My nephew flew in from DC Saturday night and has been staying at the hospital at night to spell me and my stepdad.
My little sister is not handling this well at all, but she's an active drug user so I'm not surprised she's falling apart. My middle sister, who has issues of her own, has been a real trouper. She's been to the hospital several times, but for the past couple days has stayed at my mom's house cleaning up and is keeping an eye on my little sister. My stepdad is hanging in there, but he's pretty much in shock.
Unfortunately Mom didn't have an advanced directive nor did she get her will notarized. I think she felt if she had done those things that she'd be giving up. However, now the family is at a loss as to what exactly Mom wanted us to do. ::sigh:: I'm learning from this as to how I will want things to go so my kids won't have to go through this. But that's neither here nor there. Right now I'm staying with Mom as much as possible.
Please keep the good thoughts and prayers coming. : )

Big hugs, and so glad you made it there. This is tough for anyone and you have a been a strong daughter for your family. Just remember to take care of you too, and things will come together when they need to. Prayers and thoughts of peace to your family.
