@32flavors All of that sounds fun! I hope BD gets back to you soon!
I am taking DD to daycare this afternoon and then will head to town to get a pedicure and manicure. I teach and am off for the summer, so she hasn't seen her DC gal since late May. DC lady is excited to see her and it makes me so grateful to have found such an amazing caretaker. I will come home after the salon and do some work before picking her up. I haven't done this before and feel a little guilty, but know it's okay.
DH is putting up backsplash in the kitchen and it's all torn up. It looks great so far, but I wish he'd just take a day off and get it all finished instead of working on it when he has time. It feels like the entire house is a mess when the kitchen is nuts.
We leave tomorrow night and I still have so much crap to get done! We are mostly packed but stuff keeps coming in at work that needs to get done ASAP. Our dog sitter is staying at our place with her BF so we also need to clean the entire condo tonight. I predict a long day today. Today is H's birthday (tomorrow is mine) and we aren't exchanging gifts because we have been bleeding money between this trip/closing the condo. Adulting is not fun.
DH and DS left Friday night for a week long fishing trip to Canada. I'm not enjoying my alone time as much as I thought I would. They come home Saturday. I can't wait!

Bootcamp kicked my ass this morning. I'm looking forward to sitting at my desk for the rest of the morning 😬 2 more real days of work, then I will bring DS to work with me on Friday, and we will leave mid-day to drive to my parents' beach house. I really hope we have good weekend weather. We haven't been to the beach yet this summer, and I really want to take advantage of the long weekend.
Meeting up with some ladies from our local Mom group at the park later this morning. Then driving to the beach this afternoon to meet friends for dinner.
Am I being a prude? On the radio this morning, one of the stations (just a regular Top 20 station) was citing a survey of men & women about which celebrities they think of while masturbating and were requesting listeners to call in and share which celebs they "call to mind when taking care of business alone." Ew. I think I actually gasped out loud when the DJ said that, lol. I don't consider myself a prude, I'll talk about sex all day long with friends (and you guys, lol) but talking about it on a morning radio show seems...uncouth.
H and I and a couple friends are doing an escape the room tonight and then grabbing dinner and drinks on the deck of a local restaurant. I am so looking forward to it!
I've been feeling overwhelmed with things and so tired lately. We're on vacation next week and I cannot wait to be sitting on the beach, drinking a beer.
We did an escape the room thing a few months ago and it was fun! But we did not escape and were eaten by aliens, lol. Hopefully you and your friends are smarter than us
Something died in one of the walls at work. It smells so disgusting.

I'm drinking coffee and watching Pretty Little Liars and I don't want to go to work. Today marks three years since my Aunt died and I'm just feeling sensitive.

I. Am. So. Lame. I just winked at a guy at the grocery store. He was taking his elderly mom shopping, and it was super cute. He was being so patient with her. She and I were reaching for the similar products, but I took her recommendation and switched brands and then winked at her son. Why didn't I just strike up a conversation with him? That would have been so much easier than having to go to the grocery store every Wednesday morning until I run into them again.
My mom just took my kids to the lake! We'll go down on Friday afternoon. But that means 2 full days/night child free! I am half tempted to take off Thursday and Friday just to lay around and do nothing by myself. DH and I are going out to dinner tonight to sort of redo Father's Day b/c we got into a huge fight then. I found a groupon to a fancy steak place but he'd prefer to not have to get dressed up after work, so we'll do something a bit more casual near home.
I can barely move after yesterday's physical therapy session. They added a few new exercises and I've been hurting since last night. I cannot wait til PT is over and my back no longer hurts.
Also, The Parent Trap was on TV last night (the original!) so the kids and I started watching it. They loved it! I think I wore out our VHS tape of this movie growing up, I watched it so many times.

I'm sitting at the oil change place. Always fun. But I just found out I get to go to Puerto Rico for work and I'm so excited. I'll go with a colleague who I'm friends with too. Yessss!
Only 67 this morning. Absolutely glorious! I'm going for a nice long hike.
My DH used an organic fertilizer on all our plants last night that is based in seaweed, kelp, and fish marrow or some shit. So now my yard smells puke-worthy.

My mom's siblings are all a bunch of vile, disgusting, greedy assholes. They've been going through inventory of my Grandma's house (she just moved in to an ALF and they are selling her house) for the past three days and making picks for what they would like.
They are purposely dropping my mom off of emails and leaving her off of things so she's out of the loop. She emailed yesterday that, even though it wasn't on the official list, she would like my grandma's linens/tablecloths - there are some beautiful vintage pieces in her collection. Nobody acknowledged it or put up a fight and picks continued as normal. She got an email this morning from one of her sisters saying that she went last night and "cleaned it all out" - took EVERYTHING. Including the linens/tablecloths. The consensus last night was that everyone could come claim their big items and then grab whatever odds/ends they wanted - including the grandkids. Now there's nothing left because my aunt gave it all to two girls from her church that are moving out on their own.
We are in MSP and my grandma's house is in central Wisconsin - they are totally exploiting the fact that they can just run over and clear out whatever they decide they want to take.
I found a wasp's nest in our kitchen window last night, and the exterminator can't come out to take care of it until tomorrow. Ugh. I just want it gone!
