I'm reading The Alpine Traitor and will probably start The Alpine Uproar this weekend -- maybe even while I'm waiting for my husband to vote.
QOTW: My favorite is white cake with bakery buttercream frosting, and I LOVE frosting so I will always take the corner pieces off your hands. Homemade cakes, I prefer yellow with chocolate buttercream. But, unless it's on carrot cake, I think cream cheese frosting is terrible and will always turn down cake with cream cheese frosting. Red velvet cake gets ermine frosting, none of that cream cheese crap.
I'm reading The Paris Wife, and have about 100 pages left. I like the writing a lot, but am finding myself annoyed at the characters. Can't decide if it's solely the subject matter, or the author's delivery. Once I'm done I'm looking forward to reading through reviews to see the general consensus.
QOTW: If I had to pick just one it would be a good carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Preferably with a glass of good chardonnay. I love frosting, but not super heavy on the cake itself. However on its own, I will gladly eat it by the spoonful.

I had never heard of Ermine Frosting so I had to look it up. Interesting.
I'm reading A Breath of Snow and Ashes, but also other books at the same time because it's so long and I need little breaks here and there. It's better than the last book though, I had to restart that one a few times and it dragged a bit for me.
I finally just got my library hold of Station Eleven, looking forward to reading that this weekend probably!
This week I have read: By The Numbers by Jen Lancaster, Shopoholic Takes Manhattan and I am halfway through The Drafter. I was disappointed in the new Jen Lancaster; the main character just didn't work for me.
Cake. I am really weird about my cake. My first choice cake will always be white cake with lemon curd filling and white buttercream frosting. I like my cake and frosting to have different flavors so chocolate cake must have white/vanilla buttercream. I can't do chocolate on chocolate. I love Pink Champagne cake (it was one of the flavors of my wedding cake) and one of my local bakeries makes the most amazing Pancakes and Bacon cupcake (maple cake with bits of bacon, maple buttercream frosting and candied bacon on top).
I'm reading Drums of Autumn. I'm also reading New Rules of Lifting for Women. I haven't done any of the workouts yet but I hope to start on that in the next week or so. I wanted to read through the book first.
I love Chocolate, Strawberry, and Red Velvet. I definitely love frosting but I don't like too much of it. It gets to the point where it gets too sweet.
