I'm looking for a destination half marathon for this Fall. Has anyone ran the Gansett Half in RI?
I'm looking for a "cold" half - I'm not into racing in the heat. I find I do my best when the start temps are in the high 30's/low 40's. If you have a half that you have ran and would recommend it, let me know:)
Ok I asked my H and he reminded me it was two years ago and it was a mix of rain/sleet/snow.
That's not normal for that time of year but I will stand behind my weather unpredictable comment, but most likely in the 50s at 11 am in mid October in RI.
Paging shelbyann! Edit: never mind. My tired brain assumed Gansett Marathon in spring, and that may even be defunct now. But Shelby may still have comments about running in that area.

Yeah I did the (now defunct, I think) full which was in the spring so I have no clue about the weather in the fall but it was indeed gorgeous!

I had my PR last fall at the Portland, Maine half. My favorite temp to start is also 30 degrees. It was a beautiful course, small race and fun destination city.

DH and I were just talking about going back to Maine:) What the course like? Hilly?
