A family member who is a graphic designer will be making up a program for my mom's celebration of life. He is asking me if there's a particular font we want to use. Mom was born in 1939, and came of age in the 1950's. Is there a particular font(s) that was popular in the '50's? Please advise. tia

Well, Helvetica was released in the late 50s, so designers would fall all over that.
Futura Perpetua
It really depends on what style you have in mind. I would probably give him the feel you are looking for rather than a particular font if you don't have one you love.
