Oh my, we were busy this weekend. DH left on Thursday to attend a weekend event in Maine. S and I had it all to ourselves!
Friday she had basketball clinic. It still cracks me up to see my tiny little girl with all these big kids trying to manhandle a professional sized basketball. A group of even older kids was there, and it didn't even faze her. I have the most hilarious picture of her dribbling along with 20 other giants. The best part is, she LOVES it. Even with wind sprints and passing drills.
Saturday was a day of errands. I was attending a freezer meal workshop on Sunday, and I was in a baking/cooking mood, so S and I hit the grocery store and stocked up. And for the first time in months, we went to Target. They had back to school stuff out already, so I got about half of her school supplies. I can't believe I have a kid old enough to need school supplies. The list is very manageable though, and my mom has decided she's buying the rest of them and mailing them from CA () The rest of Saturday was spent cooking and baking. S has created her own scone recipe, which involves me letting her assemble random amounts of sugar, flour, water, and baking powder, and baking it until golden. I think it's gross, but she loves it. She added a twist of chocolate frosting on top (of course)
Sunday Daddy came home, so he and S hung out together while I puttered. Freezer meal workshop was disorganized and kind of a hot mess, but there was wine and good company, and I now have 4 freezer bags of meals to eat.

Friday night I went out for a nice 12 mile bike ride. DH was supposed to come but he didn't feel up to it.
Saturday I ran 10 miles in the morning and out for breakfast with my running club. Then DH and I started laying Pergo down in our guest bedroom. We had a couple friends come over with pizza and beer to see how it was done because they were also looking into doing it themselves.
Sunday I went out running with two girls for 5.5 miles. Then I had to rush to go out for a book club meetup which was at a pizza place which was delicious. Then I went home to finish laying Pergo down which took much longer than we thought because DH made a handful of wrong cuts near doors so we had to keep redoing boards.
We had a really busy weekend. Rehersal dinner on Friday night followed by wedding on Saturday. I was a bridesmaid so I was busy with pictures and such. Then Sunday we had a co-Ed bridal shower brunch for another friend. On the way home from the shower we decided to stop in Newburyport and walk around.
The pro was all three events had an open bar. The con is that I feel like I'm still recovering from this weekend and I didn't even get drunk. It was also our first weekend away from DS. He did great and I didn't worry, but I was glad to pick him up Sunday morning. I missed him!
