Anyone else read this? I like psychological thrillers, and I felt this one had potential, until the end. I wasn't particularly fond of the writing style. Just wanted to see what other people thought of the going backwards in time one day at a time thing. I think it was supposed to make it more interesting and different, but I don't think it added anything to the story. Maybe distracted me from how simple and boring the ending kind of was.
I actually really liked the backwards style. As each day ended, I found myself reflecting on the earlier chapters to see how that reveal changed my understanding of it. I agree the ending was simple but I'm not sure the backwards thing would have worked as well with a more complex ending. Or the writer would have had to be much better.

I agree, I think the backwards thing was what MADE the book interesting. Like, they would talk about something that happened earlier and I would be like, "WHAT HAPPENED EARLIER! I HAVE TO KNOW!" I probably would have been bored had the book been chronological. But I don't think it added anything to the plot itself. I wish she had spent more time making a better plot twist rather than going backwards, personally.

Really I'm just glad that the entire plot twist wasn't in the epilogue or the last page like so many of the psychological thrillers published recently.
