I bought some at home waxing strips today and tried them out. You're supposed to rub them together in your hands, apply, and remove while holding your skin taunt. I did all that and even got the husband to help because I wasn't doing a great job ripping. Nothing is coming off and now my legs are all sorts of red. Have you had any success with at home waxing or should I just suck it up and go to a salon? I was trying to save a bit of money.
My sister and I have had a lot of luck with homemade wax out of sugar, honey and lemon (just google for recipes). It works so well and is about the cheapest alternative there is! However, I recently bought an epilator and am even more in love with it because there's no mess and I can do it without waiting for the hair to grow much. If you aren't ready for that though, definitely give the honey method a try (you just rip up an old sheet for the strips).
I would do this to save some $$$. I dont even want to know how much I have spent on eyebrows in the past several years.
But that said, I dont trust myself to wax my eyebrows. I fear I wont end up with any. But I admire those who did wax at home and ending up still having eyebrows.
I bought the Gigi hard wax kit and it works pretty well. I think it was about $40 off of Amazon, but it comes with enough wax to last for several waxes.

I've used those strips for my eyebrows and they worked well. When I tried using the larger strips on my legs and stuff, not so much. I think the amount of wax on the larger strips makes it difficult to heat it well enough with just your hands.
those "rub between your hands to warm them up" strips suck ass. I've had the best luck with a warm wax kit that is microwaved. and I wax my legs in the kitchen since that's where the microwave is. I like the Parissa brand from Target.
I've used the rub wax strips but heated them on my desk lamp so the wax melted properly. But found the nair facial wax that goes in the microwave so much better and lasts so much longer. Haven't waxed like legs an stuff at home I'd go broke buying wax lol
