Anyone else playing? Want to chat? What level are you, have you tried a gym yet, what's your favorite Pokemon? Got any silly pictures? awkwardpenguinniq
I am level 6, team Mystic. I wish I had more time to play, it's hard with my kids with me all the time. Plus there are NO Pokemon at my house in the country, so I have to use incense if I want to catch any at home. I still have basic, boring Pokemon mostly. I'm hoping to catch a sandshrew soon, it was my favorite when I played as a kid.
I am level 6 also team mystic. I'm having a bit of blue team regret. I kinda feel like I should have picked the yellow team. No one talks about yellow! Why is that?
I was at HersheyPark yesterday and there's a Poke Stop every 10 feet or so. I banked on those! I couldn't really catch any guys because I couldn't stop long enough or DD would have noticed. I actually lost out on the goldfish Goldeen because she was right at a ride entrance and we were walking in. I'm still bummed about it. There were a couple of gyms too. I don't know what to do at a gym, and don't have any idea when I'll be stopped at one long enough to attempt a battle.
Anyway, I'm having fun catching the critters, and I have a couple of eggs in incubators but the game drains my battery fast so I don't know when I'm going to be able to walk long enough with it up and running to hatch them. (Yesterday at the park would have been perfect, but I couldn't risk draining my phone.)
I'm playing. Level 6. There's nothing at my house or in my neighborhood though. We are going to Baltimore for the weekend though so I assume there will be lots more there.
Is this a check-in to see if you are alive? To find out if people have been hit by cars or robbed trying to find Pokemon? That is the only thing I know about this. I really don't get it LOL. I have never felt so old, especially when people significantly older than me are playing.
I want to be into this, but I live too far into suburbia to ever get a chance to get anything! [/quotek]
If I remember correctly we used to live by you. We went back to our house there this week and it was so dead compared to the city we live in now. I did go to publix though and for some reason I caught a ton in there!
I'm level 9, haven't tried a gym yet. Our city has a ton of parks and has a college downtown so there are spots everywhere. Hardest thing is their servers are overloaded so I have to kill the app a lot. I am about to go on a walk and will probably go up a few levels. H told me to use a magic egg so I'm going to try that.
Level 10, team Mystic. I tried a gym and was able to win one fight but overall got totally destroyed. Fortunately H knows what he is doing! I'm mostly just interested in collecting.

I think suburbia gives you the most Pokemon! You'll have tons of pokestops and people putting lures on them, so all you have to do is sit on a street bench and the Pokemon come to you. I was able to do exactly that for a few minutes while watching DS at the splash pad, and I caught 4-6 Pokemon in about 10 minutes.
I'm level 6, Team Valor! I have battled at a gym once, but I did a really bad job and ddin't know how to fight, so I lost. I Haven't been back yet.
We have a couple Pokestops in our neighborhood, and there are several places I go that have Pokestops. I got a Jigglypuff in my front yard the other day!
Working on hatching 2 eggs. I hope they are something cool like a Pikachu!
I got a Horsea in my dining room yesterday! Supposed to be a water Pokemon. I'm also working on 2 eggs, a 2km and a 5km. There's a chart online that shows you what Pokemon hatch from which kind of eggs, and virtually all the 5k eggs are Pokemon I don't have. So I'm stoked about that.

I wanna try this but get an error message every time I try to create an account. All week. So I'm reading this stuff to live vicariously through you all!
I've been trying it halfheartedly for a few days. I'm like level 3, and I'm not sure I get it. There's not a lot in our immediate neighborhood, and I'm a little embarrassed to get busted playing it in public places, ha! I was probably in high school when it was originally popular, so I'm certainly not playing it for nostalgia.
kategm have you try batter saver mode? Click the pokeball on the main screen, then settings in the upper right corner, then battery saver. When you turn your phone upside down, the screen will go black with a faint Pokemon Go logo on it. You'll still get a vibration when there's a Pokemon in your catching circle, and your walking counts towards your egg distances. It saves your batter somewhat. You can also turn off AR mode when you're catching Pokemon (the slider in the upper right corner when the Pokemon appears), but that's arguably less fun.

I gave up on making a trainer account, they're just too overloaded. I made a fake google account (so the game wouldn't tie to my real google account) and that's been working fine.
Level 7, team blue. I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do at a gym!
Me too. I was finally in a populated area that had a gym, and I checked it out, and the gym leader's Pokemon was 872cp. Lolol my best is 194, so nope nope am I ready for that! By the time I'm ready the gyms will be at 1,000+.

The gym by my office currently has a 1276CP Pokemon in it, lol.
Good grief! That trainer has a lot of spare time LOL.
