My CW neglected to tell me until 12:15 that our Friday meeting with our boss was moved to 1 pm today. I'm annoyed that I've spent a great portion of my lunch preparing things for this meeting (research I planned to do this afternoon, but could have done this morning if I had known).
I was supposed to start working from home one day a week, and then our CIO said "no". Just to our little dept of 3. Many other peope do this, some 5 days a week. But us? Nope. And now he's micro-managing us.
And all managers were told by HR to basically approve any requests to WFH (this is a new policy) - that it really needs to be serious to say "no".
He's a tool on a power trip who only knows how to kill morale. I have os much more to say, but I'll digress.

It is always freezing in my office. Always. I work in a cube toward the end of a hall, and it's like the heating installers just gave up midway. You can literally feel it get colder as you walk down the hall. I am tired of having to put on a sweater when it's 75 or 80 degrees outside.

Oh the stories I could tell...My pain in the ass coworker is doing a training session tomorrow morning. Training is on time management. This is the same person who doesn't get in till like 10am despite having no appointments in the morning. She also takes 2 hour lunches. Ironic much? I had to show her how to even use powerpoint yesterday. Like she seriously couldn't figure out how to open the program. She asked me "what program do I use to create a powerpoint presentation?" I had to show her how to add a slide. Somehow she figured it out though it looks horrid.
Oh, and she has no CLUE how to use the office laptop so she wants me to sit in on the training and run the computer. "Like, I want you do to do everything and I will just stand there and talk. I don't want to have to worry about it." I explained that you can't view youtube (another part of whatever her training is) through the system. This confused her. She also didn't understand when I told her if she wants the powerpoint on the actual computer she has to email it to an outside email because of the blocks we have on.<rolls eyes>
After trying to get it through her thick skull for like 10 mins, I am tempted to take tomorrow off just to piss her off hahahaha.
And don't get me started on her unappropriate wardrobe and her nasty hair. She is 54 and thinks she is 24.
my CW continues to ask if she can FAX reports in. the answer is freaking NO. no GD faxes in 2012. get online and input the data
Gross. The only way I can get in touch with my big boss is via fax. If he's approving something, we have to print it, fax it, he will handwrite changes and fax it back so we can change the originals. It will probably be another 50 years before my office gives up the fax machine.
My bank branch accepts property tax payments for our local county. In Nov. (on the deadline to pay for the county) my branch processed more then a hundred tax payments, many of them in cash. It was also the last day one of my tellers worked here. Now, that they are all getting their spring statements customers are noticing that their tax payments were never made. It is becoming more and more likely that that teller pocketed their tax payments and gave them dummy recepits. This is going to cost my branch thousands. Oh and I get to do a crap ton of research to track down the payments and somehow calm down all these senior citizens that are worried about their taxes (understandably). I am ready for this month to be over.

I don't understand how some of my CW make the mistakes they do. This process is very straightforward and easy if you follow the process... they have to be paying no attention at all to make some of these errors! I did a similar project a few weeks ago where I completed 100 of these tasks with no errors, yet nearly every other task completed by one of my CWs for this project has an error. It just isn't that difficult!
My secretary blatantly ignores when I am on the phone. My computer station and phone are across from my door so my back is facing the door when I take phone calls. She will stand in my doorway until I'm done on the phone, even if it is a 10-minute phone call. If I turn around and acknowledge her presence, she will immediately start a conversation with me.
I have profusely apologized to the person I'm talking to, put them on hold, and stopped her mid-sentence asking her to please let me finish my phone call and then I will be able to talk to her and she STILL does this.

We were told if we hit a goal at the end of April everyone would have a half day the Friday before Memorial day. Yesterday, they said we had a new goal we have to hit for that half day. Everyone is pretty upset.

My boss treats me like a 13 year old who has no idea how to do the job that I've been doing successfully for 6.5 years. TGIF. Weekends need to be longer.

We have regular meetings on Mondays and Thursdays that half the office and everyone in management attends, including the higher-ups. Every fucking time it turns into the biggest circle jerk with people trying to impress the bosses. One person will say something and someone else will have to add their bit to it, then another person chimes in on top of that. This goes on and turns what could be done in 15 minutes into a 90 minute meeting. I hate this meeting but anyone in my position is required to attend.

I am on maternity leave. I dont get paid by my company at all. The manager that took over for me emailed me at least once a week for the first 6-8 weeks with questions. No problem. Now, 6mths left before I return, my staff are calling asking if I am definitely coming back to that location because the store is falling apart without me. Yes, nice pat on the back, but wtf, leave me alone. Never mind, how can one person make that much difference?the other 6 people are the same. And now, I feel pressure to go back there even though I think it might not be best for my family.

Not annoyed at my job just crap that has to do with my job. I am supposed to be going overseas to help out another branch of the company and the damn Indian consulate has had my passport and work visa application for 3 weeks and they have yet to approve or deny my work visa.
Annoying co-irker who sits next to me (and is ONLY going overseas b/c her BF cant be separated from her for more than 5 seconds) got her fucking work visa approved today. Am BEYOND PISSED!!! They rushed her app because the guy she is dating works in a different department and has to be there ASAP. The thing that annoys me the most is that neither of them can stay more than 4 weeks.
I just want my damn work visa approved so I can get the hell out of the country and away from DH for 3-5 months!!

Our company rented a party boat for tomorrow to reward our sales people who earned a certain quota achievement. We were all taking tomorrow "off" and going to the lake on the boat and eating and boozing. So many of these people canceled at the last minute, they canceled the whole trip. How do you pass up a free day off to booze and party on the lake? Now I have to go to fucking work tomorrow instead.
I'm exhausted today. DD is sick so I haven't slept well this week and my house is a mess. I was hoping I could leave at noon today which usually isn't a problem. I get to the office to find out that there are only 2 of us here today, out of 8 of us who work in here. I'm bummed that I can't leave now.
I had my annual review yesterday. It went well, but I am annoyed that I didn't know I was going to have the review until 30 minutes before it started. I totally would have prepared more for it if I had known it was going to be yesterday.... Sometimes I worry about the communication in my office...
