Sorry for another one of these threads.....I had posted about my Japan trip but my OB doesn't want me going so that is cancelled.
DH and I love cruising. There is one Caribbean cruise that is NOT affected by Zika. It goes to Key West and 2 stops in Bahamas. Bahamas is not listed on the CDC website for any Zika cases. We also did this same cruise in April (right before our IUI) and didn't see any mosquitos.
I had mentioned possibly going on this same cruise while PG to my parents and my parents FREAKED out and said we shouldn't go bc it could be the next place to get it (it hasn't gotten it in the 7+ months since Zika has been around). BUT my thoughts are that Bahamas is so close to Florida, that if they do get it, Florida will too, and then so will Texas (where i live). We even would be totally fine staying on the boat and hanging out at the pool for a little bit and just relaxing in our room. I would wear long sleeves, bug spray, etc. This will be our last chance to cruise until Baby is 6 months old.

I don't think I would go. We cancelled our trip to Cuba in March even though they hadn't announced any active transmission of Zika. (I see now on the CDC that they are listed as of March 19). We went to Hawaii instead.
We've been to Jamaica and Dominican Republic in recent years and haven't seen any mosquitos either. But we just felt after all the expense and work we put into getting to where we were at, it just wasn't worth it. My doctor basically told us the same thing.
How about an Alaskan cruise? My neighbors just got back from one and they said it was phenomenal. I know it's not exactly tropical. Or visit Canada! Your dollar goes a long way with the current exchange rates.
If you feel the need to wear long sleeves on a cruise, you should not go on the cruise.
This is all about comfort level, really. If you are comfortable with it, go. But you are asking questions and talking about staying inside and wearing long sleeves ON A CRUISE which makes me think you are not completely comfortable. What did your doctor say?
I'm pretty breezy about traveling when pregnant, but I don't think I'd go anywhere where Zika might show up while pregnant. Personally, I'd just have a hard time relaxing and it would fuel unneeded anxiety for me. Plus like Muddled said, if you feel the need to cover up with long sleeves on a Caribbean cruise, will you really enjoy it?
I absolutely would travel at that point in pregnancy though, this situation aside.
I went on a cruise to the bahamas back in April. I should've been 12 weeks pregnant then but still was planning to go. I was planning to stay on the boat in Nassau anyway because that port doesn't excite me at all. Anyway, I am a huge mosquito magnet and didn't get a single bite anywhere we went. I think they really keep those tourist areas sprayed.
If you're okay with staying onboard the ship then I would go. I've cruised a lot and I've never seen mosquitos on a ship, so I think it's safe.
I went on a cruise in January when I was about 21 weeks. The only port on the affected list at the time was Mexico and I stayed on the ship there and went to the spa. We saw no mosquitos in Bahamas (and our other port was cancelled due to rough seas).

I might go to the Spa. I normally don't like spending the money, but instead of an excursion, the spa sounds AWESOME!

That's how I looked at it. Everyone else in my group went on an excursion, damned if I was going to sit in my room feeling sorry for myself while everyone else had fun. And the spa was lovely, cost aside.
I think if your ok staying onboard then I would go for it.
I personally am over cautious when it comes to things like mosquitos though as I get 20x the bites dh gets if we go anywhere. (I'm so happy where I live isn't effected by Zika because I got 30-50 bites on our last camping trip at the beginning of July.
