I'm packing right now for Kingdom Swim, and I'm all kinds of anxiety ridden over forgetting something. So tell about something you've forgotten for a race, the good, bad, ugly, or funny. Let's hear it!

I went to a (thankfully nearby) race a few years ago and forgot to pack dry clothes. Or underwear. But I had three beach towels, four pairs of goggles, and at least six bottles of sunscreen.
My bike water bottle for a tri. Thankfully it was just a sprint, so I made due without it but I think I paid for it during the run. Most annoying part was that I had brought it from home, but left it in mils fridge the night before to chill. Walked out without it.
I've forgotten my garmin and my water multiple times foe local races.
When I was a kid and we were heading to a horse endurance race stuff my mom would always reach a point in the packing insanity where she'd just stop hersrlf after the 4th double check and say "I have my horse. I have my saddle. I have a credit card. I will manage."
Well today, apparently my bra and underwear. It's gonna be a long day 😂
You are gonna kill it at Kingdom mrs.jacinthe ! I'm so excited for you!!!
Oh...yeah, I've done that too. Luckily there is a walmart open 24 hours between my pool and my office.
I'm not normally a walmart shopper, but man if it doesn't look like the angels are shining down from heaven on that big ugly box when you really really need something and every other store is still closed.
You are indeed going to be amazing!! I have no funny stories or than random things like an extra bottle of Gatorade or a specific headband or jacket I wanted. I've never forgotten anything that wrecked my race, and I try not to freak about the small stuff.
My second marathon I left all of my fuel in the car my husband dropped me off and then drove away in. Luckily a fellow runner (who I randomly just met that morning) had an extra pack of sports beans, so I rationed those. At some point DH saw my fuel belt in the car and somehow managed to find an overpass on the highway I was running on around the half way point (this was San Diego, so he had no clue where he was), somehow spotted me in a sea of 20k+ runners, shouted my name (and somehow I heard him!) and he threw my belt down to me from roughly 50 ft above. We forgot clothes for my sister once.
I'm with your mom. After checking and re-checking, I usually end up by asking if I have everything I absolutely NEED to finish a race (ie - shoes, helmet) and the rest I can live without if I forget it.

that was the motto of my BFF and I when we headed off for our first tri the other weekend. Bikes, helmet, two pairs of shoes. That'll do.

I am stupid excited for you. How are we tracking you? Can H send us some text updates?? Can we put a little gps tracker under your cap? LOL!
I've forgotten underwear and bras so frequently that I keep an emergency bra and undies in my gym locker. I don't think I've ever forgotten anything critical for a race.... oh, except that time I flew across the country to run a race together with 25 internet friends and forgot to register for the race. LMAO!

I won't know until Friday how cell reception is. And R won't update because he'll be busy kayaking. But if cell reception is good, I'll use live tracking on map my run.

The last 5K I did I forgot to bring headphones for my music. Fortunately I live 1.2 miles from the start so I just drove home and got them. Would not have been the end of the world if I didn't have them though.
mrs.jacinthe, you are going to KILL it in this race! I cannot wait to meet you Sunday for a beer to celebrate Keep me posted on your ETA! (try not to be jealous of our meeting, everyone else, lol)

I was just thinking, "dammit i'm so jealous" I'm still bitter that I wasn't able to force some free time into my schedule when mrsj was in town for the bay swim.
